oppinions please.

my dad basicaly doesnt want anything special and likes basic cars to potter around town.isnt too botherd about electric this and electric that but if the deals good hel go for it,

so hes stuck between a
1.1 panda eco 4995 (basicaly an active i think)
1.4 punto grande active 7k.

i know theyre both kind of different types of cars but they are stil cars that can be used around town.
any oppinions on these cars if you own them ...what they like around town? practical?gutsy?value for money?

thanks people!:)

Panda will be cheaper to buy and run (£35 tax), be easier to park and still hold 4 people easily if needed. Also 5 doors as standard, as slab sided which makes it easier to get in and out in town parking spaces. Pretty sure the ECO has colour coded bumpers and abs now so is specced reasonably.

The punto is a bigger and more expensive car that will not do a great deal better for him I shouldnt think. Some people get hung up on not wanting to drive a panda or having to buy a big car, if this is not a problem then the Panda is best.

Yes the Panda is an amazing little car. Good value for money, and just enough power for town driving. It's also extremely light on fuel, and it has most of the safety features like abs and 2 airbags if i am not mistaken. I think your dad will be pleased with a Panda.

He may find the Panda 1.1 Eco to be rather too basic even for his tastes. Worse yet, it has nothing to overtake with. What would the next higher trim level with the 1.2 cost?

panda does sound good theo only thing on my mind is is the 1.1 ok or sluggish? is it really that bad?lol.

at the mo the scrappage is only on the eco model 1.1. the 1.2 aint at the mo so were curiose to try both really.

and also.. iv read somewhere that the eco has special tyres and some kind of new oil...both to increase economy. does this mean if we went for the panda...we have to fork out on special tyres and a diffrent type of oil?i dont know if any of you lot have heard about it?
