Question 100HP Service Intervals

Hi all, I've seen a Panda 100HP for sale but its only got 2 service stamps (registered in 2007), one is the PDi stamp and the other is a general servcie stamp at 26,000 and that car is currently on 27,000. Think its best to stay away?

That might actually be a good thing considering how incompetent some dealers are!

Seriously though, I would ask for copies of the invoices to see what work was actually done in the 26k service and check if the owner had another earlier service done independently (the first service 20k km service is just an oil and filter change and the second one IIRC little more, brake fluid change maybe).

Maybe the dealer forgot to stamp the book (mine had until I reminded him).

It might also be worth checking the basics (tyre tread as at 26k the front tyres should have expired, all fluids, timing belt) and of course go on a long test drive on a known road as when buying any second hand car.

Re: 100HP Service Intervals

Service intervals are 12,000 miles or one year whichever comes sooner.

It's worth asking if it has had work done without a dealer stamp but if it hasn't I'd be inclined to stay away. There should realistically be enough 100HP's on the second hand market that you can find a decent one.

Re: 100HP Service Intervals

Assuming there is no hidden story I would expect this car to be fine. These engines are tough. However, as has been said, there are enough 07 plate 100HPs on the market to give you choice from cars with a better history.

Yeah i am gonna see if theirs any receipts or anything before that service stamp in the book, because it is a possibility that servicing has been carried out but just not stamped.

Re: 100HP Service Intervals

Even then is it worth the hassle. It will make the car harder for you to sell in the future. Is this car special in some way that means you have your heart set on it?

Re: 100HP Service Intervals

I'm not sure where you're based (for viewing) but there are a few nice ones for sale in the Pistonheads.com classifieds section

Re: 100HP Service Intervals

Aye there's a couple that are within a pretty short distance, one thing ive noticed though is that Perrys appear to be selling them brand new for 7,600 which i thinks a pretty viable option seen as the used ones are around 6,000.

The one on pistonheads with the Pandemonio pack looks quite nice though

If Fiat are like other manufacturers, then they'll keep a record of all service/warranty work performed on a vehicle so it might just be that the first service stamp has been missed. Saying that though, with 12k intervals it looks like even the 2nd service was late and I'd be wondering what other corners have been cut.

It's a buyer's market as they say, and I think I'd be looking elsewhere, personally
