Hello.

Got a nice panda 1.2 from 2008 and want some new rims. I found it hard to find any nice rims. I want black (with chrome) 16" rims.

Anyone got any advice where to look?

I know novitec got them.

Thanks, Bas!

Thats where i got mine.
Give them a ring and they will suggest wheels that they do that will fit, then look on the website and order them

Looking good Gary!

The website is not working right now:(

When looking for rims, the rims that fit a 100hp will also fit a 1.2, am i right? Hope i find some nice black rims soon, it should look good on a white 1.2:)

Not necessarily.
You have to be careful with rim width - 100hp has shorter wheel turning lock, therefore allowing for wider rims which can easely come in contact with fenders on non-100hp (or will protrude outside wing dimensions if you use spacers to move them axially more apart).

I tought that the 1.2 had more room behind the wheels, thats what they told me @ the dutch forum.

hmm, hope i find something i like.

1.2 has more room behind the wheels, well, because it uses narrower wheels by default, obviously :)
But the problem is a) when you put wide wheels and b) when wheels turn. On 1.2 they turn to significantly more extent than on 100hp.

Its quite possible to put wider wheels on 1.2, you just have to be careful with it, and maximum width limit is slightly less than for 100hp (unless you fit wide wheel arch bodykit :p )

The rims on a 100hp are 15's as standard and I think are a 6" rim ..I fitted a 6.5" wheel to my 1.2 with no issus at all they are using a 195/50/15 tyre the wheel off set [et] on these are 28 unlike the 30 of the 100hp..

Link to the site..

Anybody got any pics of 1.2 panda with alloys. My daughter tried some 15's on her mamy but rejected them, I thought they made it look like a 4 x 4. I think she would be happy with a set of standard panda wheels or even a better set of trims just to make it look different. The catologue pics of the mamy are in aubergine, this car is fitted with optonal alloys and looks good, hers is orange with standard trims.::cool::eek::eek::eek:

Yep here is mine ..bought them from the link in the other post up there I gave earlier..I was amazed with the instant improvement they made on the 1.2..Dezent type N..4x98 pcd and et is 28..cost me £455 as a full package with falken tyres..:yum:

I think that one of the cases I was talking about.
Arent tires on above photo slightly protrude outside the arches? This can cause road splash&dirt to blemish car sides a lot more that it should.

Very marginal..you hardly notice it ..and the car passed the MOT fine at one of the toughest station in my area.. they give the back ones a nice bit of camber as well..

Well its obvious that they wont care about slight protrusion at MOT. Like they dont care about gazillion of other things - my friends car exhaust recently just fell off (rust), and his car passed MOT fine just before that :)

Its not dangerous, just not very practical, especially here where it rains often, and personally I dont want to improve one aspect of car at the cost of another.

Also I am not sure that I like how it looks. When you fit a wide tires, IMO its imperative that you fit proper arch mouldings too, to "widen" arch rims slightly (like it on 100hp).

Thank you all for you help!

Im still looking for some rims and my dealer told me that tje max size is 15". are they right? I really want to fit 16" and 6.5 or 7J.

like those very much:

The maximum sensible size is 15", given that is the biggest wheel fitted by the manufacturer on the 100hp.

Think it will just look wrong if you go for 16s, plus the ride will be more compromised. With that amount of grip (guessing you will get decent tyres) you ought to be able to drive flat out everywhere with a 1.2. It will be no fun handling wise but if it's just looks you are after and you aren't into hammering it into corners then you'll be okay I guess.

Agreed. I also think the Panda is one of those cars which only seems to look good with the OEM rims but that's just my opinion.

I'm going to be unpopular and also say that the Mamy above looks great with its steel rims and placcy wheelcovers :p

The mamy is still on steels and original trims, they are a bugger to clean though, as I found out last week, needs a toothbrush, where my 100hp can be cleaned with a large brush. So not only have Fiat fitted some really tasty wheels they are a doddle to clean. I did spot a set of original panda alloys with tyres with only 800 mls on them on e-bay, tempting at £395, my daughter remained unimpressed, anyone with an older car were the tyre were about ready to be replaced this was a steal....
