Technical Changing Rear Wiper Blade

Two answers: buy a dedicated new blade (basically whole new arm) from Fiat, or on ebay...

Or, replace the front wiper blade, then slide the rubber part (and its two shiny metal strengtheners) out of the rear wiper arm (it will come out at one end if you bend it slightly), trim the old front blade to length (cut from both ends to use the 'good' part from the middle), and refit. Worked a treat for me. (Note the metal strengtheners are slightly curved -- make sure they go the right way, curving away from the screen otherwise the wiper only touches in the middle)

If you want to change the whole arm, manual says to lift up the tab and then use a wrench to unscrew in order to remove the whole arm.

I too need to change my back wiper. Rubber's coming off it!

Cheers for this! Picked myself up a brand new "Max Power" 22" from halfords for 50p in the bargain bin to do this and it works a trear. wouldn't have used my old front blade, it was completely knackered. Some pre delivery check my dealer did - one of the tyres looks a little suspect as well :(.

Thank you for the great tip! I'd kept my original front wiper blades after changing them [for Bosch AeroTwins] and I am glad that I did (y)

Is there no mod or aftermarket part that lets you use the old style wipers ?

Had a look on eBAy and they all sell the wipers that include the arm... Nothing under £8

I need to replace my wiper arm and having removed the nut the arm refuses to budge and I am afraid of applying too much pressure in case the back window cracks.

Could those who have done this before offer any advice or guidance as to how to go about getting the arm to budge?

Just done this on my Panda and my wife's Meriva as the ends of the blades were split and its worked a treat. Saved me about £25 in cheap ebay rear wipers for both cars.

Thanks for that tip dude :)

Spray with WD 40 and leave overnight, try again the next day.

I think all of these go together :).
