Posters,

I'm very close to committing to a purchase of a 100HP but need your help to assist with me making up my mind.

It's a 2008 model, registered by the FIAT dealer on a "57" plate with 4 miles on the clock in New Orleans Blue with Blue Fiat badges.

It's been sitting in their showroom (since registration) of 31/01/2008 and has never been on the road.

The Dealer has advised me that he will include the following if I do the deal. However, being naive to this game I am not sure what is standard and what is a genuine freebie - could anyone advise?

1) Longitudinal Roof Bars (which I prefer).
2) Side Rubbing Strips all around.
3) A Full set of Fiat Car Mats (front and back).
4) Panda Front Door internal Sill Strip protectors. (look plastic too me)
5) Locking Alloy Wheel Nuts.
6) A full tank of petrol.

However:

1) No road Tax
2) No Transfer of my Cherished Reg Plate between vehicles
3) Only 2 years and two months left of the Fiat Warranty.

All for £6995!!!

I need to make decision by close of business tomorrow, Sunday 30th November 2008.

What would you do?
Are there better deals elsewhere?

I am only interested in Brand New or Pre Reg cars with nominal mileage i.e. less than 100 miles.

Deal or No Deal - What would you do?

Worth confirming the build date of the car with him as my 57-plate (registered in December 2007) has red badges! Mine came with locking wheel nuts, rubbing strips and aluminium kick plates (sill protectors?) as standard...

I've just got a brand new Panda 100hp from the local dealer for a touch above £7k. I was able to choose my own colour, the car was built on 29/10/08 and it has red badges. It has come with 12 months tax and 3 years warranty. Its never even been sat in.

Call Jamie at Wessex Fiat in Gloucester. Just tell him you want the same deal as Nigel had. he'll know what you mean.

 go for it...i bought my 07 100 hp pre reg in august 07. delivery miles, reg in june. £8995...no tax and no extras.
prices have gone through the floor, it,s a buyers market.

As above, you can buy brand new un-registered 100HP's for £7k these days - Fiat SupaSaver are selling them for £7295 and there is somewhere else selling them for £6995 but I cant remember their name at the moment

If you've got £7k to spend then buy new from somewhere else, otherwise I would bargain this one down to <£6k

Hope that helps and good luck :)

*Edit* Other garage is Perrys, here's a link: http://www.perrys.co.uk/fiat-panda-1.4-16v-100hp-5dr/new/77192

Thank you Mr Banker.....No deal!

As mentioned above, I'd go to Perrys (where I got mine from) and get a brand spanking new 3 yr warrantied one for £7K....

OR I'd maybe offer them £5K for the 'old' one....(y)

Blue Badges points to a Pre-September '07 build date....Roof bars were £160ish option, kick plate covers were standard, unsure about the rubbing strips (Chris says his '57 plate has them, but mine doesn't), wheel nuts were standard, mats are about £70 I think?....And that year of warranty you lose is the actual Fiat one, not the limited 3rd year one!

you know what i'm gutted how cheap the 100hp's are to buy new, i paid the full price on ours when they first come out.

gutted because now i'm thinking of the gp abarth but will lose so much money on the little panda that has been probably the most reliable car i've ever owned. makes me want to keep it.

my yellow coupe turbo plus is up for sale now so i have alittle longer to think about it.

I woud advise a new 58 plate or wait just over 4 months to get an 09 plate. The 57 plate with blue badges won't hold it's value, as when the 09 plate comes out, it will be considered a year and a half old! So get a new one with full warranty, maybe you'll be able to pick up a 58 pre reg (when the 09 plate comes out) for around £6700 new?...

Up to you about the roof bars, i'm not a fan tbh.

Did the 100hp ever have rubbing strips?

Locking wheel nuts are standard for the 100hp.

Tbh i'd want to get a 'fresher' car. Also don't forget the brake servo assistance seems to be revised on later 100hp's with the result that you tend not to headbutt the windscreen everytime you stop. Also funny but true the washer fluid cap has been extended upwards making it a lot easier to refill. Only minor things I know but I much prefer the brakes on my later 100hp.
