Every dealer in the UK was forced to register one as a demonstrator in July, so come October (demonstrators have to be retained for a minimum 90 days) there will be one on every forecourt.

TJ Vickers may be advertising theirs already, but that doesn't mean anyone can actually buy it yet.

And as trackdayqueen has already said, £11,495 is not exactly giving it away, especially as you can buy them new for less (granted without the Bluetooth, Sliding Rear Seat and Metallic Paint of the demonstrators) already.

I saw the one in Cardiff a week ago, the salesman said they were gonna register it in September, and he'd give me a ring to have a go.

I'm glad actually, cos I may have bought one impulsively if i'd had a go. The cost isn't justified though.

The smart money is on a year old one at less than £8k I think

Since test driving the Panda Cross and seriously considering buying one, I've found myself enjoying driving my 4x4 Climbing all the more.
I like the colour of mine, Dry Turquoise and feel that the Cross only comes in boring or mad colours.
Since I topped up my gearbox oil the gearchange has been much smoother.
My car seems to be more economical than it used to be.
I see no reason to spend thousands to change, only to see the value of a new Cross plummet in the first year.

Thinking about it, I reckon wait for a few months then hopefully discounts will be a bit more reasonable like they are on all the other pandas. I really think dealers are going to have a hard time selling them at list price.

Gearbox filler/level plug is pretty obvious, on the front of the gearbox adjacent to the coiled section of the plastic hydraulic clutch pipe.
Access is best from above both to remove the plug and to top up the box if required.

yep that'll be the one i did 340 miles in then! it actually has nearly 900 miles on it now (sorry!) see my other thread for a full review people

£10750 now. still says 100 miles though!
Well don't tell anyone but apart from the fact that i put 340 miles on it, i also gave it a few scars when i was off roading! What do they expect? take a 4x4 on a test drive but don't use it off road? they never noticed when i handed it back, they must have spotted it by now. Was just a few scuffs to the front bumper and the silver bit on the front bumper, no biggie, they may have fixed it anyway...

Did you give it any bramble rash when you offroaded it ?

For the uninitiated a lot of the green lanes you are allowed to drive are overgrown and brambles rub against the side of the vehicle.

For those of you who now have a 4x4 and want to drive down a green lane please note, only 2% of the byways are legal to drive on. you need to get a decent ordnance survey map, look for 'Byways Open to All Traffic' (BOAT) routes +++++ and you should check with the Rights of Way Officer in the local County Council as some routes can be temporarily closed.
