Hi, was wondering if anyone might have an idea about this. After a year of owning my 05 Panda I get in the car after work and find the lighter isn't lit up, nor would it charge my sat nav.

Bought a new one from the local service centre and swapped them round tonight. It lights up fine but still isn't charging anything at all. So before I take it to a garage I thought I'd ask here for some advice if possible.

Thanks in advance :)

After getting the fuse out and dropping it into the engine i finally found it again and there was a small burn mark, changed it with a new one from Halfords and all is working again. Thanks Herts Hillhopper.

Glad I helped - press the 'thanks' button (thumbs up at bottom of each message...) -- useful for others to see

Now -- to blow a 20amp fuse takes some doing (20 amps at 12 volts is over 240 watts -- equiv to the current from 4 main beam bulbs). Its OK to just replace it, but really you need to explore what made it fail. You sat nav shouldn't use that much power.

Some of the Sat Nav chargers make early Alfa Romeo electrics seem reliable !!

I had a Medion Sat Nav that would short out if regularily swapped in and out - the spring would wilt and then short out.
