Finally got the internet back after moving house! a month without the internet is harder than you think!

Anybody noticed a wet patch under their drivers mat. I took my mats out to vacuum them and found it was soaking under there. grr

I think its possibly aircon related as i had it on a lot recently. and after a decent drive it even drips from underneath.

Its booked in tomorrow at fiat. so will see soon.

My air con is on permanently and always drips under the car (it's just the condensation from the compressor IIRC and is perfectly normal). I think I'd be looking at the door seals, especially if you've been having as much rain as we have here lately, and see if the door cards are getting wet.

the drips are coming from directly under the drivers footwell area. and ive checked all the doors for dampness and checked all the possible ways water could run from and to.
Hopefully I will get an answer from Fiat tomorrow.

cheers scooby

The air inlet into the car is directly above the pedals. Under the bonnet its almost impossible to see as wiper motor is is the way. Any water that runs into the 'plenum chamber' (the space behind the engine bulkhead at the back of the bonnet) should drain away through two wide rubber tubes -- check they're not full of leaves or pine needles. If they're blocked, next place water's likely to go is down into that air inlet...

thanks herts, will check that before i go in tomorrow. I dont want to look like a proper numpty!

Sorted!
Kinked a/c drainage hose. Fitters took out the trim and renewed it apparantly. However my floor is still wet. So need to dry it out and give it a good clean. does anybody reccomend any specific carpet shampoo?
Warranties -I love them. (y)

Excellent news - do you know how the air con drain got kinked in the first place, or has it always been like that?

Chris

Not sure, they never said. I presume it was a fault at the factory, as trim and bits of carpet have to come out apparantly.

Rub your hand on your carpet and see if its wet, (errr......) just to check. :D

Funnily enough your post made me check all my carpets earlier today  All dry thankfully :D
