Hi Fellow Panda 100hp owners, can any one help, I have picked up my one year old panda 100hp, on trying to setup the bluetoth i find I do not have the instruction suppliment in the wallet, the garage have twice given me a copy of instructions for a diffrent model, and seem unable to get the correct instructions, could one of you fine fellow 100hp drivers email me a copy or point me at a site i could download the correct instructions.
after an hour or two i got it paired up but the radio keeps flashing phone at me every fer mins, which is doing my head in.
Many thanks mike, my email address is [email protected]

Which phone are you using with this? The passcode should be 1234 to sync the phone with the Bluetooth and you should get a beep and the word phone flash up to confirm this. It should then disappear until you make a call.

I'm wondering if your problem is down to Bluetooth on the phone switching off after a few minutes to conserve power which is something a Motorola phone I borrowed did and that kept breaking the connection.

I believe to remove all stored phones in the handsfree kit you can hold down the red hang up button until you hear a beep, disconnect the phone and then try adding it as a new pairing.

Chris

Thanks Jai and Scooby Chris,
Is my bluetooth in my panda a "Blue and me" unit, I see in the other forum, one member confirms its not the same device, I will join the other bluetooth forum as Jai recomends, Scooby you seem to know more about the device than me I worked out the 1234 code I can Answer incoming calls but cant make any I press the green button and get the bleep prompt but then my voice tags dont seem to work, i know my sony k750I is set up ok as it worked in my old car just fine. if i hold the green button on the streering wheel down for two seconds it will redial my last called number, sound quality seems passable. but the muting of the radio and phone being dispalyed is driving me nuts, its not at any regular time it can happen 5 times a in a row then not do it for 5 mins, I will try clearing it down using your instructions. do you have the missing instruction booklet that my dealer cant supply? guess what it still does this muting thing when my phone is left at home, its as if i need to change a setting in the cars bluetooth device.

Cheers mike

Yeah sorry I'm stuck in work at the moment, but I'll dig it out of the car when (if!) I go home and post up :D

Chris

Thanks ScoobyChris, your a star !!
My son who thinks he's a computer/ phone guru, told me to experiment with holding down combinations of the two buttons on the steering wheel, which i did , holding the call and hangup buttons down together, i get an italian women talking to me , what she is saying i dont know, i had trouble with english let alone italian.
I think i better await the instructions,
Many thanks mike

She's saying "For god's sake don't do that again!" ;)

The system you have is just Bluetooth rather than Blue and Me which is featured on the bigger Fiats and uses Window ME.

A few of the instructions lifted from the book
For clearing the memory, press red and green for 2 seconds.
For pairing, use your phone to find new device and enter 1234 as the code. The Italian spoken actually means "pair kit"
Making a call, press the green for a second to do voice dialling or keep it depressed to dial last number.
Sony Ericsson phones are special as well and also support keywords as part of voice dialling. Keywords (or wordspotting) are apparently supported by your phone so you can say "Telephone >name<" and it'll automagically dial them

I've checked the troubleshooting section and can't find your specific problem, but might be worth clearing the memory and repairing and seeing if it solves it.

Chris

Thanks Chris,
Things are looking a bit better with your help, I have cleared down and re- paired, last number dialed works fine, voice dialing is strange, I press the green button, I get the bleep to speak, I call out one of my voice tags, and it times out, but by luck I noticed that when my phone was not in my belt phone case it worked. it turns out when the Bluetooth bleeps to tell me to speak, it is only using the microphone in the phone, and only when it connects does it switch to the car mic, how mad is that!!!, so as long as my phone is not in my pocket or belt case all works fine, is there any mention of selecting microphones on voice dialing?

Why cant they get a nubile young girl to record their voice prompts, instead of that old mare, trust the Italians, I am begining to remember the reason that I swore I would never buy a fiat again, classic you buy a car in the uk and it speaks Italian, and it comes with no instructions and main dealer cant help.
Any way, I will stick with it, Thanks for your help

Cheers "Am I really driving a panda" Mike

AFAIK the bluetooth connection should be connected to the phone all the time so the Fiat's mic should pass the voice name through to the phone during the voice dialing. This is how my Nokia works.

Just done a Google on the K750I and bluetooth headsets and there seems to be a a lot of people complaining about flakiness but I don't know if these have been addressed by later firmware revisions. Do you have access to another phone you can try and see if you see similar problems? Might help narrow down whether the car kit or the phone is causing the issues :D

Chris

Hi Chris,
Ive been using the sony k750i with a parrot Rythem and blues head unit faultlessly for two years, I recon it could be a compatibility problem so much for ratified bluetooth standards, Its all white mans magic without a decent instruction book on the kit in the car, just tried my sons sony 800i which does the same with the mic on voice tags, on a positive note, not wanting be be known as a moaning old git, the sound system in the panda is very impressive, probably because it was made in Germany. Oh no ive started moaning again.
Its amazing the dealer can just tell you that the car kit is basicaly rubish and recomend you get a sunvisor clip on from halfords for £15.00, I am sure it is one mother of a bit of kit once I get my head around it. I will stick with it, how many pages in that blutooth manual , can I buy you a scanner?

Having now spoken to another 100hp driver in my area, who also has no documentation, your booklet is as rare as chikens teeth, you could clean up on Ebay.

Ps will I get over the car sickness that im getting from the hardest ride on earth, I took the car on test on a nice fresh tarmacked road, i thought it was a bit hard and bouncy then, well now im on my home turf, my morning flask of coffee, has turned to cheese by the time I get to work, and my kids want me to use my wifes car to take them to school because the ride is so bad, I will start a new forum on how to improve the ride in my 100hp when I get the phone sorted, must go and take another sea sick tablet, before my next trip out.
Cheers Mike

I'll dust off my scanner and see if I can get it scanned in over the weekend. The book itself is pitifully thin so it may not actually be that useful to you, but it may do :D Tempting on the ebay front - I could be the next Sir Alan! ;)

Not sure I'd agree on the sound system, although I think it's the speakers which let it down rather than the headunit. They're on my list of things to look into upgrading at some point! My last car had a Grundig headunit which was a little fragile but was coupled with some decent OEM speakers.

There's been a few threads on the ride and people seem to fall into two broad camps. The only problem I have with the ride is that speed bumps (or "cushions") become a thing of dread, but apart from that it seems comfortable and squats down nicely on its haunches when pushing on. I let my mate have a drive of it round the cracking B roads of south Wales and as he got in he was laughing that he was unable to compress the suspension at all by standing on the sill. Was there anything in particular about the ride that you were looking to cure?

Chris

Hi Chris,
Does the 100hp have suspension at all, just like you say I take the kids over half a dozen speed bumps on the way to school, the first day, my daughter had to be fitted with a neck brace as she hit her head on the roof, you dont often see a dent caused from the inside, however I have now adopted a zero tolerance to speed while tackaling them, we make sure we are all holding on to something firm , ( not easy in a fiat) then at 1 mph cross the speed bump avoiding the accelerator and those on or off brakes at low speed.
I was hardly aware of the speed bumps before upgrading to the 100hp.

your asking youself why did I buy it, well it just looks so good, in its metalic silver, I had to buy it, and am prepared to grow to love it. and yes it is quite nippy when neeeded.
Toequip, cant tell me which tow bar to order from them, they tell me the 4 times 4 will not fit and the standard one for the fiat panda will not fit either, im not spending £500 for the dealer offering, this will be another forum for me to start, as you can guess ive never joined one of these type of sites before,
My wife is giving me a hard time, she can hear me giggling , she thinks im very sad sitting up late on a fiat forum.
so to sign off in Sir Allen style, Thats what im talking about!!!!

with regards to the bluetooth, check your phones bluetooth pairing connection is authorised to connect automatically, I presume this is an option on the sony ericsson, that way it wont need confirmation to connect, I did this with my nokia and solved lots of problems :D

Thanks James,
I am going to waste another few hours of my life on it again today when i get home from work, I have got the Sony bluetooth instructions out last night, did you get instructions with your car for the built in blue tooth phone? if not I can forward to you when i get hold of it, Chris has kindly said he is going to scan one and send it to me.

Cheers Mike
PS how do you find the firm ride in you 100hp, i note you have the same colour as me, dont they look the dog's!!

For what it's worth....I love the ride....:slayer:

....As for taking the kids to school....I used to get driven in an MG Midget, wedged into the jockey seat!

And as for speedbumps....Think of them as stunt ramps....(y)

Oh and yeah you got the best colour....:worship:

My kids don't grumble, and mine is currently 'worse' than standard due to the ongoing issues with the Cobras  BUT it doesn't really bother me or the kids; they just know to hang on tight when it comes to roundabouts

Thanks guys,
The Bitter Pill,
Thanks for the advice, maybe I need to be hitting these speed bumps with more speed as you say, I will ramp it as I enter the school car park next Monday, see if I can clear the parking warden!!
By The way I had 9 MG Midgets when I was young, all were only two seaters with no jockey seats in the back, I recon your mum and dad had you sitting on the small parcel shelf. Mind you better than having to walk 36 miles a day like when I was young rain or snow, how times have changed.

What are these cobra shocks should I be fitting a pair or a set, please don’t tell me the standard one’s were not firm enough, if yours are firmer can I put a set of less- firmer shocks to give me a bit of a smother ride, our roads are more like farm tracks down our way??

This forum stuff is addictive, am I turning into a sad B*******d

Yours,
Am I really driving a Panda

Cobra info here:

At this stage AVOID - but the problem isn't with the springs but the fact the car is now sitting 25mm and on the rear bumpstops  - of course, I want this to be revised, just finding the time :bang:

As per the Evo mag report, the car crashes even more over bumps BUT I find them better into corners :)

You know what...Thinking about it, it was more of a shelf than a seat....Black Vinyl over a bit of plywood I think? (ours was a dk blue 1275cc with Wire Wheels and all the chrome!)

As for the addictive stuff....Erm....yep! (y)

I was about to apologise for asking a question slightly off topic, but I see that has already been severely done - bluetooth to suspension in one post!!:worship:LOL!!

Anyway, has anyone managed to get voice activation to work with a Nokia 6500 slide?
