I know its not to everyones taste, but Ive had my front windows done, managed to get it free through a contact at work. :D

Its a really professional job and there is no difference in quality from the factory tints.
This is quite a light tint, but the Photo isnt very good and I know the car is dirty.

It is.

The police will pull him and make him remove it.

The window with the tint on has to let through a certain percentage of light. Can't remember exactly what this is, but it'd have to be an extremely light tint not to fall foul of the law.
'Borrowed' from South Coast Tints:

The Window tinting Regulation was amended from 1st January 2004.

This Regulation amendment now clearly rules out any tinted films being applied to driver windows (Front doors).

The Regulation states 70% of visible light must pass through the drivers windows including any other substrate fitted to the glass. Many people misunderstand the regulation and presume that 70% allows a 30% tint - It doesn't! Glass does not let in 100% of light. Clear glass only allows approximately 86% of light to pass & the slight tint of standard manufactured glass varies from the 70% maximum limit up to approx 80% of light passing through, thus any film being applied to these windows will drop the light transmissions to below the regulation limit.

If your front windows are tinted to any level you do risk being stopped by either Traffic Police or VOSA (Vehicle & Operator Services Agency) they have light meters to test the light that passes through your glass. If you have a subtle tint fitted then you should just be asked for it to be removed, if you have dark front door windows you could be told you
cant drive your car any further and face a fine and points on your licence!

Wasnt looking to get flamed here! :(
I am sure there is millions of cars on the roads with much more dangerous defects, like tyres, lights and poor wipers!

But I take your point, just hope that the police have better things to do.

Does look good...

But in reality your car could now be classed has dangerous with poor vision out of the windows, how are they at night for example?

The front windows are already lightly tinted from factory so putting tinting film over them is probably double tinting them making them both dangerous and defective with the poor visibilty out of them.

Loads seem to get away with it thou, see loads with very dark windows, always seem to be things like BMW X5s or Range Rover Sports.

It does look good! but equally looks way darker than is allowed, especially as there is already a green tint applied at the factory.

Good luck in getting it off cleanly when you're pulled over.

There is little more dangerous when driving than not being able to see.

I ran 35% tint film on the side windows of my Scooby and 22% tint film on the rear window (all on top of the factory tinted glass) and had no issues with visibility night or day - in fact it cut down glare nicely. I suspect that the camera makes the ones in the photo look really dark and in reality they are just slightly darker than standard.

Still illegal, but I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say they result in poor vision and make the car dangerous to drive.........

 To be honest, I haven`t driven at night yet. They are quite light, nowhere near as dark as the rears. and (making excuses now...) With the skydome I have plenty of light coming in.

Will try to take a better picture for you. I never even thought about the windows already been tinted.

Its not a case of flaming you, its just that certainly from my own perspective i'd not want the hassle of being pulled over regularly.

Also and i know this is a wide shot, but in the event of an accident at night, having illegal tints on your windows could really go against you.

Sure it looks good to an extent, but i don't think its a great idea.

Surely any tint on the front side windows can only increase the chance of that "sorry I didn't see the bike officer" moment? Not to mention poorly lit push bikes and pedestrians at night?
