I've searched for answers using Google (and the forum search here) and no luck.

I'm trying to find the paint code for a metallic red Panda Eleganza. I've looked everywhere - under the bonnet, boot and anywhere else I can think of. It doesn't seem to be on the metal chassis plate in the boot. I've been told that, unless it's been removed, it should be on a sticker somewhere in the car.

Can anyone tell me where to look (and what exactly to look for)?

Thanks for any help.

On the inside of the hatchback lid, on the nearside of the car as I recall.

Thank you - that was about the only place I didn't look (and probably never would have looked). The colour code and description was there (Rosso Furioso).

Thanks again.

please could someone help me out with this? i have looked on the boot lid and i still can't see anything, i'm probably still looking at the wrong area i reckon... if someone could take a picture of the exact spot where the paint code is put (and where that location is in relation to the rest of the boot lid) and upload it i would be very grateful. i have a 07 Eleganza in case it makes a difference. cheers!

The exact location is shown in your owners handbook if you have one. If you dont you might be able to download a copy somewhere to get the diagram.

rtfm eh :) its a fair point, i didn't think to look in the manual.

i downloaded a pdf, and i quote...

BODYWORK PAINT
IDENTIFICATION PLATE
The plate is applied on the external tailgate
post (left side) and it bears the following
data:
A Paint manufacturer.
B Colour name.
C Fiat colour code.
D Respray and touch up code.

apologies to the mods if pasting from the manual is not allowed on here

I dont have the manual on me its in the car. However if I remember rightly it was pointing to the left side of the boot (as you look into it) under the carpet. So thats not the floor carpet but on the left inner wing. I was going to look myself out of interest when I got the car. However it seemed like a lot of messing about and I have that boot liner thing as well to take out so I didnt bother.

I'm certain ours has a sticker on the tailgate - open tailgate - it's on the left side edge that goes against the rubber seal. Big silvery sticker that has the paint code.

i've finally found the sticker, it was where SurreyAlan says it is. Open the boot lid wide open, go round the side of it and look on the left side of it.

if you read what i pasted from the manual i could be interpreted either way - on the left side of the boot lid (if you read the text - i suppose the hint should have been the word 'external'), or left side of the inside of the boot (as you look into it) under the carpet (that's what it looks like if you look at the diagram in the manual). being a lazy sod i must admit i looked at the latter first due to just looking at the diagram and got confused as the carpet was in the way and seemingly stuck down. then it finally dawned on me to look around the boot lid and there it was...

All depends if the boot lid cover is plastic (early pandas) or fabric.

Plastic and its on thr tailgate iirc, fabric and it isn't and I'm not sure where it is.

Well I finally found mine yesterday. Even though I had a full description of where it was it still took me a couple of minutes. On the later Pandas its on the left hand side of the actual hatch itself. Why is it that the colour names sound so cool in Italian, mines nero something. Thats nero as in black not as in the roman emperor.;)

If you go to a main dealer they can look up the paint code from the reg number which is handy as my tailgate is a replacement and doesn't have the code on it.
Price is a fright though. £15.22 for 8ml of paint!
I'd assumed that price must include oral sex but the man insisted that wasn't the case.
