Hi, just popped over from the Impreza P1 web owners club to ask a couple of questions for a fella at work who has a Panda Sporting. He was wondering how many were made as that model is a limited edition - thinks it is 400?. Also are the cars individually numbered at all? Thought it might be nice to get a plaque made up to inidcate number and limited edition as the P1 club have done.
Thanks

Hi,

I can't tell you how many were actually made, but it certainly looks like only 400 were imported into this country.

There were 400 (same as the Ferrari Enzo! :p )- 200 of them red, 200 of them black. They are not individually numbered.

If that's the case, how come I've seen 4 red ones (including mine) and only one black? And how come all the pictures I've seen are red? And how come everybody bought the red one, when the black looks better?

Because red is better! I've only ever seen one black one. (But then I think I've only seen one red one too)

I am in the process of buying a black one. There have been another 3 black ones for sale and no red since i have been looking so they seem more popular (or less if they are being sold) than red. Would have preferred red as black along with silver are the most boring colours in the world for a car. Its replacing a yellow sei so its always going to be dull, even if it does have stripes.

I wonder if the chassis numbers are sequential? if they are then you can work out the numbers. When I get mine we can start a register and see if there is more than 400 between them.
It was built by fiat uk using a base spec diesel as the starting point. The factory may have built them in a batch as it would make it easier for the guys on the production line to build the right spec. Maybe all red and all black in 2 different batches.
