Hi,

Has anyone run their panda on biodiesel high than the officially supported 5% Anyone know if this would be OK?

Thanks.

I would say it would be fine except that you might invalidate your warrenty. Not using the recommended fuel. I would check with your local dealer.

Tried my MJ on biodiesel last winter.

Harder to cold start, down on power a bit and consumption went up by 10%. Gave up after one tankful, it wasn't worth it.

not OK (n)

will damage the seals in the common rail fuel pump and unit injectors

WOW WOW WOW.

I'm sorry but this is wrong. Correctly cut Bio Diesel is fine as it contains exactly the same lubricating and energy values as regular diesel.

The issue starts when crap bio diesel is used that isn't chemically cut.

Did you read that in a book?

The issue with 100% biodiesel is that there is no standard definition and the manufacturers have not completed durability testing on biofuels

Here

2. Can I use biodiesel in my Fiat?
Yes, you can, however the diesel fuel currently available to the EN590 standard already has 5% biodiesel added, which is the maximum percentage that can be used.

Therefore you use biodiesel and you are the guinea pig...

What does it say in the owners manual about approved fuel?
