Ok Bought my Panda Climbing 05 from a chap who won it in a competition....

Apart from the lights cutting out (fixed under warranty) its been a great car

However It has a single folding rear seat and I would like to have split folding rear seats.

Can this be done without modification ?

Where apart from the dealer can I source one of these (car is yellow)

regards

It might be difficult enough to source the split folding rear seat as the Panda is relatively new with not so many in scrap yards. Even then you'll have difficulty in getting a rear seat in the right colour.

You didn't say what colour the cloth on the seats were...

If it's the yellow and grey cloth, I'd say you will have no chance at all in finding a split seat in the right colour as it was only used in the 4x4 version and there aren't that many about.

To get the right colour to match the front seats will be expensive enough from a dealership... When I was originally configuring my Panda, I wanted the cloth to be the yellow and grey. We priced up how much it would be from the dealer and were quoted £700 front and rear, so I'd say that you would be looking at around £350 to match the rear seat to the front seats.

Oh and if you're looking the split folding and sliding rear seat, it won't suit your car, because the parcel shelf on the cars with the sliding seat is shorter.

Or, if you are really stuck, you might want to consider using FIAT seat covers (blue) over all of them as you can order different configurations.

Regarding Wee Smurf's quote:

"Oh and if you're looking the split folding and sliding rear seat, it won't suit your car, because the parcel shelf on the cars with the sliding seat is shorter."

You wouldn't just need the shorter parcel shelf but also the (different) plastic mouldings each side of the boot as well.....

Aw NUTS!!!!

Thanks Guys...

Hey one thing the parcel shelf why did then not put some string on it so that it lifts up when the boot opens. It a pain in A*** when you have some shopping.

Because the tailgate is vertical, string simply wouldn't work - compare the end of the vertical parcel shelf with the hinge for the tailgate, see how the shelf is right inside the car? How would the string work? On conventional sloping-back cars, the end of the tailgate is still behind the top hinge of the tailgate when the boot is open.

With the sliding rear seat option, (massively undersold and the salesmen in two different local dealers had never seen one in the flesh so we ordered it 'blind'!) the rear shelf is less deep so you can still see over the top.....:D

Simple, attach the rear-parcel shelf to the tailgate, not to the car, like in the Twingo and voila works fine.

I was the first one to order the sliding rear seat too... Only one salesman in the five dealerships that I visited while I was gathering information about the Panda had seen one... (I had loads of time to go round the dealerships cause I was waiting for the diesel version to be launched - approx. 6 months.) I found a Panda with height adjustable seat in dealership 4 and one with a skydome in dealership 5, but that was after leaving my name and number with them all to let me know when they got one in with any of those 3 options...

Personally I would love the dealerships to have a showroom car with more options for viewing. I found that most bought in basic models with only alloy wheels extra. I also found that the salesmen didn't have a great knowledge of the products that they sell and options would just confuse them. Perhaps it would be an idea for them to take time out when a new car is launched to gather more information about it.
