Question fiats mistakes

Hi , went to collect my new panda skydome dualogic only to find fiat dealers had make me a manual panda. now i have to wait another 2 months for the right car to be built. Fiat dealers has given me a curtesy car to use until then. Seeing that i have paid a deposit and have all my documents regarding the original order, does anyone know what i can claim or get as extras from Fiat seeing it was them that made the mistake, and how do i go about doing so.

Legally they owe you nothing, as they will be providing you with the correct goods.

Morally I'd hope they offer you something to make you trust them - free service or something.

Re: fiats mistakes

yes i agree with you. but i feel that such a big industry such as fiat or any car manufactures should compensate their customers for mistakes especially seeing that i paid a deposit for the said vehicle. i sold my previous vehicle due to fiat assurance that the new vehicle would be ready by the appropraite date, has anyone had any experiences of this nature i would gratefully like to hear them as this would help me to understand what i gain or not gain from fiat due to their mistake. thanks in advance

Re: fiats mistakes

If it was me a apology & the use of a free car would be enough, why do people always gain from mistakes after all we all make them?.......well ok then a wee bottle of Bells whiskey would be a nice gesture
Write to Fiat customer services and explain the situation to them would be your best bet in this situation.Who made the mistake, the dealer, factory or a individual somewhere down the line?

Re: fiats mistakes

Hi there, the dealer blames the factory, as on my receipt it is clearly marked dualogic

Re: fiats mistakes

Hmm, this maybe says something about Fiats quality control.

If the order form says dualogic/skydome, and they punt out a manual/skydome, then I feel they should get there butts kicked, and the only way to hurt them is in the pocket. This way they dont do it again.

Re: fiats mistakes

Thats a real shame its happened, i can say that fiat are no worse than other makers. They all make mistakes, it will be worth the wait and does that mean you will have the new 07 plate .

Re: fiats mistakes

If you get a panda with skydome Ant insteard of a GP we know where the mistake has been

It is annoying especially when waited so long for the 'big day',Colleen give customer services a ring & let us know how you get on

Re: fiats mistakes

mats, flaps and tank of fuel
you got a free car for 2 months, that means your car will be two months newer when you get it, so you would save 2 months depreciation

A little off topic: I have the agree with the part about quality control. A few weeks ago I noticed the top demister wasn't sitting properly, so had to wait for the part to arrive and apparently is now replaced (picking up the car today). The other day whilst wandering in the city I saw another parked GP (getting a parking ticket), so me being nosey went and had a look at their top demister, and sure enough, it wasn't sitting properly either! WTF are the QA guys doing? (Obviously not enough!)

But getting back to the topic: there's a fact to be recognised here and its that's we all make mistakes; its a matter of how often and how serious. In Fiat's case it looks like their mistakes are often and serious as well!
