| new engines on panda 4x4???? hello to everybody,,,,i love the panda climbimg 4x4 and i want to buy one but not with the 1,2 petrol engine...i cant also buy the diesel one because in greece is against the law if you live in athens to have a diesel car(some law!!!!!!!)..so are there any news about new engines on panda like the 1,2 16v 80hp(the one that punto had) or even better the 1,4 8v 77hp from the grande punto??because i think the last one will be great on the car.....if someone have the 1.2 60 hp can he tell me his impressions when he drives in the motorways.......

| Fire Power! | Re: new engines on panda 4x4???? I see your dilemma - that diesel law sounds a bit strict! How about you buy the 1.2 as standard, then add the Tricker 40mm throttle body mod which adds about 6 bhp. Add to that an induction kit, and a ECU remap - maybe even a new camshaft (think you could use the Punto 75 one as a direct replacement) and you should be seeing about 75 bhp. I have the 1.2 Dynamic model and its pretty standard at the moment - only a K&N induction kit. It will cruise quite nicely on the motorway at 70 mph with full pax load and full tank of fuel. The 4x4 model is a bit heavier than my model, but I still think, with what I have suggested above, it will be a very able and nippy car - probably more drivable than the Punto 1.4 8v. As an alternate, you could turbocharge it...

| Re: new engines on panda 4x4???? be aware that 4x4 needs torque from low revs in order to be flexible in difficult areas such as mud, snow and hill climbing. So if you tune up your engine in order to gain more power maybe you lose torque in low revs. That was the reason Fiat chose 1.2 8v instead of 1.2 16v.
