Panda 4x4 cold runnig

Anyone esle with a Panda 4x4 1.2 (or any other 1.2) noticed a hesitancy when the engine is first started on a cold morning?
I know, it's still under warranty, ask the dealer, but I find that If you can go to a dealer and say "I think this is the fault", you are more likely to get it fixed.

Re: Panda 4x4 cold runnig

Yes, Nuova I get the same thing. I had it with my 2001 1.2 Punto when that was quite new and it annoyed me a bit then. Every morning, for the first ten minutes it feels a bit hesitant until fully warmed up. Feels like the choke is switching off a bit early like the old days when they had them.
Mine only has 5k on the clock. Was like that this morning in the cold weather. Give it to 30k when it's fully run in and it tends to disappear. I find the FIRE engines get better with miles and loosen up and give better performance and mpg. I usually change the oil every 5k.
It's just one of those things. I reckon they set it up to run very lean when hot but its marginal when cold.
At least in the Panda mine idles smoothly. I had a regular misfire on the Punto that never went away, like a popping in the exhaust.

If it's run-in correctly, I would have thought if would be run-in well before 30k. Anyway, no engine will run as good when it's cold. There are many small factors which will hinder the performance, such as the oil being thicker.

Re: Panda 4x4 cold runnig

Do you mean when you first turn the key? Actualy getting it to fire.
Normaly my car starts as soon as the key is turned. This week however, on two occasions, it has taken a couple of seconds before it fires up. I noticed the second time that the imobilser light was on for longer than normal.
I'm keeping a very close eye on it. I have the 12K mile service soon, (just past 11111) and will mention it then, along with the remote boot lock.

Re: Panda 4x4 cold runnig

Car starts fine on a cold morning but if you drive off straight away the engine hesitates for a couple of seconds before pulling away normally.
I am prepared to accept the opinion of other posts that this is an ECU mapping glitch, not too worried about it.
