100HP what could be achieved?

I was wondering what can be done to the 100 hp in terms of engine modifications (I know remap is still unavailable) what can be done? and what sort of costs are we looking at? there must be a few options?

I am toying with the idea of trading against an abarth 500 next summer but wondered if keeping and upgrading the Panda would be a better option? What sort of realistic power / torque figures could be achieved do people think? or are ppl of the opinion that more than 100hp would be too much power and spoil the cars characteristics?

I love my car, but cant help thinking it could do with a bit more power and certainly torque, is 135hp and 150lb/ft realistic from the 100hp fire engine?

Re: 100HP what could be achieved?

well i'd say from what i heard the 500 abarth engine is the same but turbo'd, which they have used before in the punto iirc. so a fiat turbo kit off a 500 abarth would probably fit, other than that, i doubt personally that 135 bhp would be acheivable.

Re: 100HP what could be achieved?

Following are all relatively easy, and off the shelf available modifications:
- ECU remap
- Air intake
- Exhaust (manifold, kat, etc.)
- Camshafts

All those together will get you around 125hp (I've driven such a Panda and it's quite impressive).

If you want a serious performance gain, you could go for a turbo- or supercharger. Turbo takes a bit more work, but you could use original Fiat parts. Supercharger is more easy to install, but you won't find one from Fiat. You could have a look at Rotrex superchargers, which are very good. The C15-60 model should work, which will set you back roughly 1700GBP.

I forgot to mention i already have the GSR induction kit which does help and the noise is ace!! Still eagerly awaiting the remap which will open up a few more avenues for modification.

How far are you willing to go money wise?

You might be able to bin the a/c unit and fit afore mentioned supercharger in it's place.

That would be super sweet.

Victor - from your website it looks like you boys in Holland are doing great things with the 100HP.

Mod the driver, not the car would be my suggestion. Worth much more than 25 bhp and will cost less to achieve

It's mentioned in the pricelist for the 500 on the Dutch Novitec site: http://www.novitec.nl/pdf/fiat/500.pdf (PDF!)

However, it hasnt been priced yet...

Re: 100HP what could be achieved?

I would like to see a working example of the 131ps compressorkit. I doubt you would have much change from £5k for the conversion including the labour
