Strut Bar for Panda 100 HP

Anybody who makes them for the Panda 100 HP ?
I have seen OMP but they only make them for the 1.2 Panda.

And the big question - does it make any difference, or is it simply cosmetic?

Except that on the Multijet I think the air filter housing is in the way.

Tom, how much clearance is there between the ecu plugs and the bar, taking into account the engine will rock under load?

Good point ,,this happens on the stilo as well and the bar touches the ecu on certain models and this is why I redesigned and built a new one for the stilo models..

Re: Strut Bar for Panda 100 HP

How did this effect your insurance though?

As with the strut bar fitted if someone hits you on at the front side of your car the extra bracing would surely cause damage to the opposite side aswell?

I'm pretty sure the bolts holding the brace in place would give way well before the mountings deformed. A friend decided to use her strut brace to try and tow a vehicle out of a ditch and the brace bent rather easily and the bolts sheered with no damage at all to the car/engine bay.

When I had one on a previous car, my insurance company listed it under "cosmetic" suspension mods and didn't charge me any extra for it. My experience on that car was that I couldn't tell if it was fitted or not, even when driving on the limit, so it got removed and sold. Someone suggested that they're only effective if you have an upper and lower one to keep the suspension parallel, but I have no idea how true that is....

Re: Strut Bar for Panda 100 HP

I think its generally the case Chris, that a strut bar on its own won't make a big difference. But in conjunction with other means of stiffening the chassis it all helps.

The Teg has loads of these... a strut brace front and rear (gets in the way of luggage), thickened steel on certain parts of the shell, braces across the boot and underneath the car.. all as standard and specific to the R. Its bloody stiff! Rattles your fillings out a bit though.

So really you'd need to seriously go to town on the panda to stiffen the shell to that degree.

I did fit a front strut brace though in the front of my mk1 mr2. Can't really say it made any noticable difference, probably made it understeer even more.
