Stopping to help another motorist?

Just wondered how many of you would/have helped other stranded motorists?Seems like a bit of a rarity these days, only asking because I just changed a guy's wheel on his rover 100 over the road from my house after a puncture, he couldnt remove the wheel from his boot (plastic nut had rounded) so I ragged it out and fitted it for him, also put the correct pressure in the tyre, he'd have been stuck for hours as he didn't have much of an idea (trying to turn the nuts the wrong way) plus side is, I gained 4 first aid kits for helping him out and I don't feel guilty for watching him lol!

Re: Stopping to help another motorist?

Depends on circumstances, most of my driving is dual carriageway at the minute so I can't really help much when you can't see the car till your pretty near to it. Have stopped at accidents etc before and sorted a neighbourghs tyres out. And then had to push it up hill while the clutch decided if it was going to play or not, bloody ragged ford's

Re: Stopping to help another motorist?

I used to stop and help people if I saw them stuck on the side of the road but that stopped after I got my front and back windows punched through and my head kicked in one new years eve.

Some people are just ****s.....

Re: Stopping to help another motorist?

I'd rarely consider stopping to help a stranger these days which is a shame, but there are too many people out there who aren't genuine and just use it as an opportunity to rob you, or who turn round and try and blame/sue you for something.

Would happily help the neighbours though, if they appeared to be struggling with anything I thought I could help them with

Re: Stopping to help another motorist?

As said, depends who and where. Have stopped before to help someone trying to drive home on a flat tyre.

Often help the neighbours and friends doing stuff on theirs though.
