| Boot Jack I can't seem to find a decent location for mine where it doesn't annoy me. Where does everyone put theirs? Need a bit of inspiration as to where to put it, all ideas welcome.....

| Re: Boot Jack Why would it annoy you? BTW where is the jack? I'm guessing in the spare wheel well?

Really? I don't recall seeing one under my passenger seat.

| Re: Boot Jack Yeah, mine is in the boot in a bag, i have mine sat in the corner at the edge of the boot where it opens (if that makes sense). It just doesn't look very neat and there isn't space under the spare. I don't think there'd be space under the passenger seat but I might have a look as it's a good idea and would keep it out of the way.

| Re: Boot Jack This is weird. In the 4x4 the jack and all the other tools are neatly fitted into shaped slots on a huge piece of expanded polystyrene on top of the spare and beneath the boot carpet. In the 1.1 Active all the tools are fitted into a circular plastic unit that sits inside the spare. Are you all talking about the 100HP or have Fiat changed things in the whole range?

| Re: Boot Jack Have Fiat changed something? I have an '05 Panda 4x4, but the handbook that came with it covers the 'normal' Panda (there's an extra supplement for the 4x4 bits), and in there it shows an insert that sits inside the wheel, with the jack, wheelbrace and even a screwdriver all fitted neatly inside. (For the 4x4 version, there's an extra bit of kit -- a 3inch high plastic cube that goes between the jack and the ground to allow for the car's higher ground clearance.)

| Re: Boot Jack Hee hee - simultaneous replies from the 4x4 crew! Yup, mine too has the neat polystyrene panel -- I think that allows for the extra cube of plastic to fit in as well.

| The modfather | In my 1.2 it sits in the spare wheel but it looks so flimsy that I carry a hefty one ton capacity scissor jack as well..now that really does the job well..

| Re: Boot Jack I've an '08 plate 100HP. I thought it was odd but there's no polystyrene in the spare wheel. It's not the end of the world as it doesn't take up a disproportionate amount of space but I just think it's untidy and I'd prefer to have it hidden away

| Re: Boot Jack PNL, that sounds a bit over the top to me. All the extra weight you carry knocks your fuel consumption (and I'm not daft enough to think that your scissor jack weighs 1 ton!). I would like to have my trolley jack with me at all times as it lifts the Panda in seconds but it's just not practical.

| Re: Boot Jack If the spare sits in its well in the boot with the outer aspect of the wheel installed downwards, surely a jack and other tools will sit neatly inside the wheel whether there is a bit of plastic to hold it or not. The only disadvantage is that you need to remove the wheel and all that's inside it to check the tyre pressure of the spare (but who does that these days,eh?).
