In June 2007, Auto Express did a 60,000 mile stripdown on a 1.1 Active New Panda which was very positive. (The majority of their comments apply to all New Pandas, not just the 1.1 Active)

I am attaching separate scans of the two pages and the spread hoping they may be of interest to new and existing members.....

All acknowledgements to Auto Express.

thanks for posting, very interesting reading - its hard to change a lot of peoples views of fiat for reliability and build quality, but its good to know that my own experiences of basically solid reliability are backed up by a proper test like that.

in 5 years of a seicento schumacher edition, and 2 years of a multijet panda we never had a breakdown and have only encountered expected wear and tear replacement costs.

if people wont buy a fiat owing to their past reputation, then its clearly their loss nowadays.

my panda as done 10k now and has had no problems,i read articles on the grande punto on this site and although mechanically they seem reliable they seem to have other common faults like steering rack faults, doors that don,t open etc.reliability is not just about breaking down if a elec window fails or a car fills with water this is still reliability in my eye as its a day off work and a trip to the dealers even though the car is still driveable.fiat seem to have got it spot on with the panda, but still need to improve on the other model(s).
