Spark Plugs for Panda

The manual says either Bosch (FR8DE), NGK (BKR5EZ) or Champion (RYC10YCC).
Problem is, over here in Malaysia, finding one of the above is difficult.

A query to Bosch Malaysia suggests FR78X (Super 4 series). But a check with carsparkplugs.com (Fiat > Panda > 2003) suggests FR7DC+ on Bosch!

So now, am totally confused. Either the website isn't updated (carsparkplugs) or ...

Your comments pls?

Thanks

Pete: You got me slightly off. Bosch MY is recommending FR78X. Just that a website called carsparkplugs.com is recommending FR7DC+. So am asking whether anybody who has changed their sparkplugs, what brand and model are they using...

Anyway, after checking around, I've ended up using FR78X. It seems to be giving a little more "ooooomph"...

Upon changing, the mechanic showed me that the original is NGK plugs!!!

EvilJaxx: Champion is very difficult to find here in Malaysia... Engine is 1242, like Pete's.

Pete: Best you watch them like a hawk! Me, since my panda is a really difficult car to find here, and I love my "baby" lots, everytime a mechanic touches it, I'll be right beside the person... to observe! hahahaha

yeah, right!

Re: Spark Plugs for Panda

i'm changing them me-self! and i will also mark the caps so i know what he does and doesnt change over. if they are a worthwile upgrade, i'd better get 'em on quick ( at least with four spark gaps, no more clocking the plugs to make sure they are pointing the rightway)
little known tweak for single point plugs

Hi,

What does Torino Motors MAlaysia fit as replacements? Their parts prices are pretty reasonable. You should give them a try. I used to do some minor reapirs with them when i had my 1999 Punto Selecta.

Re: Spark Plugs for Panda

Buddy,
You must had lots of luck with them! As far as I know, there's a LOT of disgruntled ppl with them, due to shoddy and lazy workmanship to ever waiting parts to lousy customer service... Hence, it was never on my list of workshops! Even the few times I went there to purchase my maintenance parts (oil filter, air filter, pollen filter); was treated with upmost disrespect!

So, hence, my aaprehensiveness with them. And then there's the loooooong 45mins ride, if no jam on MRR2! You tried SDAI's service before?
