Just returned from a week on the Island of Ischia, which is about 20 miles by boat from Naples. With a population of about 60,000 about every 5th car was a Fiat Panda, saw loads of the old Sisley 4x4s, Climbings & many new Crosses in all colours - not just yellow as seen at home, also lots of the old style 500s.

Suppose it's not that surprising, but I had bored Mrs Panda silly with "Look at that One" at the end of our first day. In Hertfordshire where I live I think I've only ever seen about 10 new Crosses or 4x4s & that's in about a year.

If you love Pandas, Ischia is the place to go!

It's the same in Umbria - loads of Mk1 and Mk2 Pandas with a hefty percentage of 4x4s, Trekking, Sisley, similar Mk3 and now Mk4 with a very high showing of 4x4 models - there are numerous roads in the area where you must have snow tyres from October till March; the letters are delivered by 4x4. Also numerous rear-engined 500s, many of which are not restoration jobs, just used as every-day transport for years.

Ah, if only....

Sadly we had to cancel our planned family trip to Italy this year because of sundry family crises (aged mother-in-law broke her hip, daughter underwent a PhD deadline meltdown) so my Panda-spotting in sunnier climes will have to wait until next year. Sigh.

When we took the Panda to Rome last year me and the queen didn't see many Pandas, but saw plenty of 500's. The locals often gave us a thumbs up when they saw us driving a Italian car with GB plates, especially when getting a wiggle on. Looking forward to doing it again!

We saw plenty of Pandas in Rome earlier this year, mainly 312's.

Even saw a white Pop with a Taxi sign on it down the side of the Pantheon, at first I thought I might have had too much Prosecco, but her in doors spotted it too and she was sober (she has to be to guide/carry me home)

I think we must have missed a few then. Best car I saw there was a Lancia Stratos. That made me consider a trade in [emoji23]

Looking on the bright side, you are in Suffolk with golden beaches and virtually uninterrupted sunshine almost all year round, not to mention the awe inspiring mountains with their challenging passes like the Stelvio and.....eh?

Ah, that Suffolk. Condolences mate. Still, there's always next year.
