Well, the new motor just arrived. A (pre-tax-hike) Lounge.

The Twinair will take some getting used to I guess, but the spec was too much to resist:

DAB radio
Tinted windows
Winter pack
Climate
Reverse sensors

Best let the 100Hp go then........

Looks lovely, the TA improves dramatically as the miles pile on but it does take up to 20k! It will get much smoother and more refined and mpg will improve too, enjoy

Thanks. In 10 years it should be awesome then.

It also has the Citybrake thing it seems........

One thing it doesn't have is a freaking spare wheel kit. What size are the spares for these? 135/80-14?

Nice car, nice colour. Can't confirm the space-saver spare size, but that looks about right - the one in the back on my 4x4 is a 125/80R15. Just pack a couple of tins of tyre-weld too, as they fix the majority of typical punctures in my view. Good engine choice too.

Thanks. Looks the part. Only wanted the winter pack really but hey.

I listed this on the FIAT website - just shy of £14000. Paying £9500 seemed reasonable.

Thanks folks.

Right:

1. I can switch off stop/start right?

2. The phone holder look to be benign - presumably U-connect just works like Bluetooth (not that I use a mobile phone)

3. The USB port in the glovebox should just work with a list of MP3s?

Stop start can be switched off on dash by heated screens switch. Phone cradle for viewing Nav on a smartphone in portrait I thnk. Mp3 fine on usb 32 bit format. Easily bought for around £3.50 in that format. (y)

Is the DAB radio a Fiat own? I didn't think they had the option on the Panda, and what's this 'phone holder'? Sorry for the questions - the spec looks brilliant; I'm sure you'll love it! ;)

Yeah - like I say, for whatever reason pretty much every extra was loaded on this car. The DAB is a £100 option, though the radio looks the same on the outside. There's also a media USB socket and 3.5mm aux socket in the glovebox but these may be standard.

The phone holder 'plugs in' to the top of the dashboard but has no electrical connections. I've removed it for now as no need for satnav etc.

Big question is whether my camera will fit in that gap under the high-console.........the lens pushes perfectly snug into the 169's cup-holder.

U-connect question...........

I can see two on Google Play:

Panda Uconnect
Uconnect live

Which is the one I need to pair the phone etc?

Panda Uconnect.
Nice little app that occasionally glitches but nothing serious. The MP3 side of it works best with a touch screen and not the Uconnect radio. I navigate by folder to pick the album that I want but my OCD doesn't allow for playlists!! A second hand smart phone with no sim card might be an answer if you don't have a mobile.
Make sure the SB stick is really short as the glovebox door will hit one that is too long. I use a really small Kingston 32gb thumb drive, FAT32, with no issues.
Lovely car, which I am sure you will love.

Even at my age you can still learn lessons and end up paying for mistakes.

I don't think the Twinair is for me. I can't live with the power/torque delivery.

Probably going weigh it in (at a huge loss) and get the same loaded Lounge but as a smooth, if slightly gutless 1.2

Funny old world eh?

I'm surprise to see that it not have "Side Rubbing Strips" on the doors, that should be as standard on a Lounge.

You know, I thought the same. Specially as the website lists them as standard. Least of my worries though......

Great looking car. I want to make my windows tinted, too.

Also what's the name of these wheels?
