Running costs aren't the issue (and in any event, both 595s were showing 40+ average mpg on their trip computers, which for me is damned good for such a pocket rocket). I found the ride fine, too - firm, but very well damped. The biggest disappointment was the yawn-inducing throttle response below 3k revs. Not a problem when you're pressing on, and the turbo is spinning nicely, but in everyday driving it's the 'point-and-squirt' character of small performance cars like this, the eagerness to respond to throttle inputs irrespective of speed, that should be hard-wired into their DNA, and for me, the 595 just didn't seem to have it. My old DS3 THP wasn't as fast as the Comp, but unless my memory of it is faulty, it seemed to respond with much greater alacrity to my right foot.
