The Mrs had a issue this morning, after stopping to fill her 1.2 Lounge up (a strange occurence on it's own), the ignition went dead.

Turned the key and nothing, no dash lights, no engine, everything dead.

After a couple of attempts of removing the key and trying again, it eventually woke up and started.

I've tried it myself with her key and it all appears fine now, Fuel pump whirrs, dash lights up, running lights on and up it fires.

I'm tempted to try and book it in as the warranty expires in a couple of weeks and we're away next week.
Don't want to get back with it continuing to cause trouble and the warranty just finishing!

Methinks it might be the ignition switch behind the ignition lock barrel.

She has a heavy key ring hanging off her key and the whole ignition switch/barrel feels a bit wonky when I compare it to the other two cars.

The bugger looks like it's fixed to the steering column with a security bolt, as there's no head to the friggin' bolt!

Hi Goudrons. I vaguely recall something on the forum about metal objects on the keyring causing ignition problems. I agree it's best take it back whist still in warranty. I would take the very heavy keyring off the key as it can not be helpful and I am sure the garage will say that is the problem, if it turns out to be the barrel. Guess who will pay.I'm sure someone else may assist you.
