Thats Range Rover Drivers for you. I intend to find somewhere off road where his barge is to big to get through and then challenge him to a race! Then we will see who can swap t:worship::worship::worship::worship:heir spark plugs faster....

In the time it took you to write that, his car probably depreciated by the same amount as your purchase price.

I remember that when I bought my panda, a friend had just taken delivery on some whizz-bang 4x4; what I paid new for the panda was less than the upfront payment on his contract hire agreement.

Also he had to use two cards to fill it up as the tank held more fuel than the card limit on the pump at the local filling station.

Yes come to that I remember in 1989 I have a new Citroen diesel. We had to make a family trip to Cornwall. Phil said I'm not going in that thing. I seem to remember seeing just shy of £200 of fuel go in during the trip..... At the time we could have gone there and back on 1 tank in mine. I MUST make sure he is with me when I next visit when I fill up!!

My boss had range rovers for years. Cost him a fortune running them and always at the garage being repaired or towed. He spent more on repairs and servicing in a year than my 18 month old panda cost. He has seen the light and now drives a R32 and a juke and cannot believe he can run both and still save a fortune on costs each month. Me i used to drive his RR and i thought it takes ages to get anywhere as you have to slow down or stop everywhere as its so big on the road, and not as nice to drive as the panda.
