Can anyone tell me if it is still possible to join the FMC? I have forwarded my application form and joining cheque for £25 but have not heard anything in the last two weeks. I have also e-mailed the given contact and there has been no reply. My cheque has also not been cashed.
I am thinking of purchasing a Lounge/Trekking Twinair and would like to take advantage of the privilege discount/finance scheme (I believe membership of the FMC qualifies).
Any help would be much appreciated.

The membership secretary has just returned from holiday in Italy. 2 weeks isn't very long to be fair & any Club run by volunteers is unlikely to set up a membership within that time - you have post each way too. Anything in the last 2-3 weeks isn't likely to have been dealt with.

Membership can be set up instantly via PayPal, but you've sent a cheque? Pm me your details and exactly where & when you've sent stuff, and I'll check with the membership sec for you.

If you need more info about the affinity scheme, please let me know. The details are on the site I referred you to previously, and vouchers are arranged through me when you're ready to order. Slightly odd posting here rather than on the FMC forum, but hey I've seen it! (y)

Many thanks for your reply. I apologise if I seem a little impatient and am happy to wait a little longer now that I know things will happen.I didn't post on the FMC site as I didn't think that I could as I am not a member (Yet). Thanks also for your earlier post referring me to the site -I have seen the q4 2015 deals and they look very attractive (£3750 deposit contribution with cheap finance on a Trekking).
Hopefully I can contact you in the near future when I am ready to order

Sincere apologies to all the volunteers involved in running FMC for my cheap-shot post, which was made in jest but was uncomfortably close to the mark!

That's no problem. Do you want to pm me your name & address details, and I'll check if it's been received? Things do go missing if the Royal Mail aardvark eats the post, so I'm happy to check. (y)

Can anyone advise what the difference is between the privilege scheme and the affinity scheme? And which one membership of either the FMC or BCC gives entitlement to use?

Affinity is either a fixed discount percentage off list price (be sure to ask for the same discount off any options) and/or a fixed amount bonus spend on your new car.
Example, car costs £10,000, refund bonus of £2000 which can be spent on a version upgrade (pop to lounge etc) , options, service plans etc. You cannot have the cash back.

Privilege is buy the car at full list, and Fiat will give you a deposit contribution towards the finance, usually at an extremely low rate. You may also get a discount off the list price thrown in also?

Both schemes can rise and fall with the value of offers. They are arranged every quarter.
Q4 of 2015 had great privilege offers. The Trekking they were talking about above was a £3750 deposit contribution.
Q1 2016 this has dropped to £1750..

Somtimes it works out a lot cheaper to take the finance instead if the cash discount, even if you were to have the money sitting in the bank. The finance may save you thousands? Depends on the quarterly offers.

Hope this helps. :)

Here's the details for January - March. Most dealers will be desperate in February.

Save more getting used model after 1st March though, when there's a glut of cars.
