Been 'lurking' on these forums a while - since 2012 when I had a 500 Twinair Lounge, briefly ( a long story!)
Decided it was a time to change motors, currently have a Mini Cooper.
Have been very interested in the 4x4 since it came out, but after seeing the Cross
in the local showroom and having a spin in their Trekking demonstrator was really impressed - fell in love with the brilliant Twinair engine again!! and
was surprised just how well 'screwed together' it felt.
Have ordered a Tuscany (Cow Pat!!) green one with most of the goodies,
now just have 12 weeks to wait.............................................:)

Welcome and congratulations on your choice of car. I have also have a cow-pat green TA 4x4, but non Cross, and absolutely love it. Still only 4000 miles under its belt so struggling to improve on 42mpg if driven like a granny right now, but accepted opinion is that this improves significantly once mileage increases.

In fact I'm so impressed with the car that I am considering selling my Audi S4, as I simply never bother getting it out of the garage any more. The roads in Surrey are so bad that a stiffly sprung (and this is 'only' the S4, not RS4...), hefty car is simply no fun whatsoever. The Panda however just scampers around without a care for the road surface. It really is remarkable.

I'm sure you'll love yours too...

Great choice of colour IMO

Seconded?

Still loving my Cow Pat Cross, battlescars notwithstanding, Have to agree one of its strongpoints is the excellent ride and once you are up to cruising speed general refinement. It's a very relaxing car, can't wait to do a really long journey in it.

It's going fishing for the first time tomorrow, might involve a muddy field?

Liked your mini review Bogwoppit and your off-roading adventures, hope it has recovered
from it's 'incident' with the Nissan Puke!

Still amazed by how little visible damage it suffered, ok T boning something you are always going to be better off than the car that gets hit in the side but when you hit a car hard enough to render it undriveable you expect at the very least to have a light or two out to show for it.

I have a cracked headlamp and a wonky fog lamp but every single light works as it's meant to. It's going to need a whole new bumper, bonnet and even radiator (has a small dint in it) but Fiat haven't messed around with this car, the exterior carbuncles are not just for show which for an Italian car is somewhat surprising and all the more impressive as a result.

Yes I am sad I had to have a bump for the first time since the mid 90's in a car I had only done 400 odd miles in but I am also impressed it stood up so well.

Still rather pleased it was a Nissan Puke?

Just heard yesterday my Cross is in the country and on it's way to the dealer:)
Been a long wait, but by the reports from the other 6 TwinAir Cross owners
it'll be well worth it.
As a relative newcomer here I haven't quite worked out how to upload and insert photos, could someone give me a quick guide. I'd like to upload some
pictures when I get it.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it. (y) Looking forward to the pictures.

Speaking of which - quick you say?

Gallery, upload, insert! ;)

Seriously, go to the gallery section & there's a big upload button there - you can save to your own album or just to the general forum gallery.

If you haven't donated, you will be limited on space. Hit the donate button & you get unlimited storage - minimum £1 but surely the Forum is worth more than that?

Once you've uploaded your pics hit the funny camera symbol (top right when you're replying to a post) - this allows you to choose photos to insert. Just click on the ones you want and they go into your post - it defaults to thumbnail, just use the drop down to set to medium & they will be the right size for everyone to see. (y)

Just been informed by the dealer this am that my new Cross has arrived and have arranged for collection on Friday. Just over two months from ordering................
seems to have been a long wait though, really looking forward to it. The other
'Crossers' all seem to be delighted with theirs.
Hopefully it'll all go smoothly, so by my reckoning this is the 7th Twinair Cross, and seeing as I haven't thought of name yet it'll be have to be known
as no.7!!!!

I was at work actually, the sales guy captured it on his phone and sent it to me!

I'm picking it up on Friday am:):):)

The colour choice was a difficult one (the options less so....just ticked
most of the boxes!!) In the end went for green (shades of Land Rover
perhaps?) ........hmmm hearing aid beige, anyone got one in that colour?

I think the greens out number the Reds now.
Enjoy your new purchase!

Took delivery on Friday, all went well and the car was well presented and in the spec. as ordered :)

The first impressions are very favourable, to echo what other members have
said about it, feels solid a surprisingly refined. After the Mini the steering feels
less 'Go kart responsive' but I expected that, on the plus side it treats pot-holes
and ruts with disdain.

Love the growl of the Twinair!!!!!!!

So far on the first tank the Computer is reading 39mpg, I'm sure that'll improve
as it loosens up and the weather gets better......did I mention the bum-warmers
are brilliant.
