I'd just wait for the car you really want. March is only 6 weeks away, and you'll be one of the first 15 plate cars, rather than one of the last 64 plates, which should bag you an extra couple of hundred quid when you come to sell.

Tbh if I was you and it arrived in February I'd ask if the dealer could wait till March for registration anyway, so it might be a blessing in disguise. I don't see the point in compromising on what you want unless there's going to be a substantial saving.

I hadn't thought about it being a 15 plate turning up in March! (y)

The white 4x4 would be a big compromise - I'd rather buy the orange 4x4 on ebay!

Nothings decided just yet, waiting until monday to see what the dealer comes up with.

Thanks for your input (y)

:yeahthat: basically.

You'll only regret it every time you drive it if you get the one with the bits you don't like :(

Probably because I've never got used to the 100HP and its box that I baulk at having another, I also got fed up of never getting quite the right gear in the cross I had on test.

I went to Leeds to pick up some panda alloys and popped into Arnold Clark's there, first thing I see is a white 4x4 with olive and sand interior. The white I could live with (with a little strategic application of some sticky back plastic) the seats you don't look at when driving but the dash....

Anyway, Clark's had 10 4x4's and one Trekking on their books - not one had the sat nav port :bang: besides that I am very keen on the winter pack which was also absent.

Forgot how different the view out the letter box - I mean windscreen is from the mk4 - doubt I'll ever use the sun visors!

The alloys I just bought for my non existent car!

I have those alloys with summer tyres on my 4x4, they are lovely! :)

Very pleased to report that my order is now status 20 - built (y)

Just for the record the techs said that the dash colour would be difficult to change without taking the whole dash out - ruling out the flying wellie!

White didn't float my boat, though I was tempted by the orange 4x4 on ebay - even though it would have been a 4.5 hour trip to see it - each way!

Glad it's moving along now and hopefully will have it on the drive in not to many weeks :)

You could look into getting the dash wrapped. I've considered that for the Cross, because I don't like the bronze dash.

Yeah, I did think about that but it was the dealer who suggested swapping over a dash from a car they had in stock because the colour was a deal breaker.

I might look into the wrapping as I'm not mad keen on the silver dash in the trekking either!

That's a first for a Fiat dealer! :p

Normally I'd agree, but Patrina (who is very nice as it goes, ahem... ) phoned my Mum every week for 3 months when her 4x4 was on order. She promised to do it, and always phoned - usually to say no change, but sometimes all excited that the code had changed!!! We knew exactly where it was, when it couldn't be changed, when the robot had a teabreak, the lot. Hugely impressed :worship: but then we met the service department.....

I believe scout also had good things to say about Perrys sales in Aylesbury, but his salesman wasn't pretty! :ROFLMAO:

Had an email telling me the new reg number, so hopefully all's well with the car this time.

They also asked if I wanted petrol putting in the car (duh!) and what radio station I wanted tuning in!

Fingers crossed it's ready (y)

Maybe they weren't sure if it was petrol or diesel?

I'm guessing you're showing your (our! ;) ) age & didn't say radio 1. :D

I told them to fill it up and not to forget to have the car mats, boot liner and satnav all ready for collection too!

I didn't specify a radio station though I seem to have radio 4 on a lot at the moment!
