Afternoon all!
It's taken quite a while but I will shortly be swapping the Panda, so I will no longer be an "active" Panda driver on this section
I have spent months looking for a whole load of different cars; have managed to sort out a good deal on a 62 plate Punto 1.4 Easy 5dr which is in Brit Pop Blue and 10k on the clock. My wife and I both saw one in that colour about two years ago and I've always felt it was one of the best colours in Fiat's range.
So why get rid of the Panda? Well, it's done nothing wrong whatsoever. Been completely reliable apart from the clutch switch that broke after about 4 months (replaced under warranty with no hassle at all). And it's given us so much more space than our old 500 without really being any different at all size wise.
But my wife in particular has never been all that keen on it; if I am being brutally honest, the age profile of Panda drivers down this part of the world is...ahem...not the youngest lol So I don't suppose that helped, but also I think she just missed the 500 more than anything.
On a personal level, I'm quite pleased to be on the other side of the fence regarding depreciation! The Punto is nearly two years old, is fully loaded with kit and was up for £6995 - a complete bargain IMO. Have had to pay around £700 or so to get out of our current PCP, but overall our monthly payments will be lower and as it is an HP deal we don't have a large balloon payment at the end. On the flip side it will have to get through several MOTs, but I'm happy enough with that.
Finally, would like to say a big thanks to you all on this section! Won't be departing for good of course though. Also, thanks to deeyup who has tried to help sort out a new car deal for me Just wasn't to be!
