Hi there, I've got a 2012 1.2 8v Lounge with 31k that hasbeen making odd noises from the clutch for some time.

The problem had been the fact the pedal action felt notchyand not smooth, also when depressing the clutch, between gear changes, I couldhear creaking noises. The problem was worse when the engine was warm and hadbeen steadily getting worse.

I felt that something wasn't right so took the car to mylocal Fiat garage (Clemo Cleckheaton) who said they'd have to keep the car fora few days for an inspection. The next day I got a call to say they believe theproblem to be originating from within the clutch assembly so the gearbox wouldhave to come out!

They day after that the phone rang again. The dealerbelieved they had found the source of the noise, the release bearing that hadbeen dragging on the pressure plate causing wear. I was told it’s a similarproblem to what had been happening on some fiat 500's.

As the car is in its 3rd year warranty, I have to wait forapproval by the people who authorise warranty work.

I just thought I'd share my problems with you, just in caseany of you have issues in the future. I shall keep you posted as to whether theissue has been resolved with a new clutch.

thanks ,
never has any of this with the older panda's ; - )

I had 3 x plates under warranty.. before one bedded in properly without "judder" : - ( 2004 1.1 active

I never had a problem with my older panda's clutch either. Perhaps it's a manufacturing defect or an isolated incident. It's just something to watch out for as the new panda ages and people inevitably put more miles on the clock

My 500 was a tiny bit juddery, the dealership lubed up the where the slave connects to the clutch fork. Problem solved :)

Right! I've had the whole clutch replaced and fork. It feels like a different car! Although when I change between gears, the pedal still makes a creaking noise. It must be unrelated to the clutch itself and probably related to the pedal mechanism. I've used while grease on all the moving parts i can see and its made no difference

MY WIFES 62 PLATE PANDA EASY HAD A CLICKING NOISE FROM THE CLUTCH HOUSING,EVEN WHEN THE ENGINE WAS SWITCHED OFF.THERE WAS ALSO A SLIGHT JUDDER FROM THE CLUTCH WHEN DRIVEN FROM COLD, THE BATTERY IN THE CAR WAS ALSO LOSING ITS CHARGE IF THE CAR WAS LEFT STANDING FOR MORE THAN A WEEK.TOOK CAR TO FIAT DEALER ARNOLD CLARK KIRKCALDY,WHO CHECKED THE CAR OUT AND FITTED A NEW CLUTCH AND BATTERY UNDER WARRANTY CARS MILEAGE WAS 7000miles ALL OK NOW
