Have recently bought a brand new Ifor Williams trailer which came as standard fitted with a 7 pin plug.
Regards

Because change like that would seriously blag a farmers head and cause them to ram the 13 pin plug into a 7pin socket on their 4x4 then wrap it in bailer twine to hold it in place (can you tell I am friends with farmers?) ;) :p

Haha, you've got me confused now.

At mot time the bracket and ball is inspected for security (if fitted).

If there is a ball cover fitted they can't remove it thus a check for wear on the ball can't be assessed! So it passes..

If they can't find a detachable ball in the boot they can't test it so must pass it....

If it's fitted and there is excessive play in the mechanism which the quick release ball fits its grounds for failure.

If the socket or wiring is damaged that's a fail

They have a 13 pin socket tester they plug in and check the outputs of the socket (think hand held lighting board to check brake/sidelights / indicator and fog fights ) but no 7 pin adapters so it's not tested

I live in Mid Wales in sheep country and very few farmers around here seem to have any functioning lights on their trailers...not that the locals use their indicators "I always turn this way at the junction so why bother"
Regards

Like the range rover vogue driver that hit my mates brother who was in a BIG john Deer (spl). Head on. Steve had seen him over the hedge pulled off the road upto a ditch and stopped as he bounced off the offside wheel and counter weight.... He was so adamant he wasn't at fault it went to court.......... "i drive down that road every day and never cone across a tractor" ... Apparently the magistrate struggled to keep a straight face

:ROFLMAO:

You mate needs to get tractor dash cam, would have been funny as ****!

I take it the JD just drove off and continued its days work leaving the mangled mess of a Range Rover on the verge?

Yes it air bagged itself and died on the spot only damage to the jd. Was chipped paint on the counter weight . Apparently the policeman was laughing when hrh posh landrover man started arguing over who was at fault that's before he elected to go to court. Been a new tractor it actually had a working strobe on the roof and he saw the lr coming round the bend over the hedge so even in a car you would have been able to see the cab and beacon
