Well my 1.2 easy has passed 10500miles. From what I can gather its due a service either 2 years or 18000 miles. I was planning on doing it at 12 months, old school thinking that 2 years or 18000 miles is too long.
Another option I'm thinking of is an oil change now and wait till I hit 18000 miles.

Any thoughts on this?

Oil change at least once between scheduled services or once a year minimum IMO. I will always stick to this as I believe the intervals to be too long for oil on some cars, 21,000 miles on my Bravo or 2 years - crazy.

So a oil change at 12 months, Still think 24 months is too long.
I'd probably be at 18000 miles at 17 months.

I have always had my cars service every year with Mot if needed try not to go cheap and wait long times ,you can get service plans that will save you money

No no, oil is when the car tells you on the 1.6 and 2.0 Bravo, not 2 years or 21k, might be even longer depending upon use

The way you've got to look at it is manufactures wouldn't be stating its ok unless is was overall, 5 year warranty on some Bravos, I doubt they'd leave oil changes longer than is safe if it means they may have to undertake warranty work etc.

Oil will degrade more with use than age, its mileage more than duration between changes you want to keep an eye on so 24 months shouldn't cause to much of an issue.

probably go with a yearly service, will contact the dealer and see.

You planning on keeping the car or chopping it in within 5 years

How would you react if somebody offered you a secondhand car that was almost four years old, had done nearly 36k miles, but had only been serviced once in its life?

To maintain the resale value, an annual service is probably a good idea.

If its a FSH then its a FSH, over servicing it isn't going to increase its value.

Regardless of mileage, if near a service then you factor this into a purchase, but if its just had its 2nd service no-one will pay more for it because its had 4 services instead of the required 2.

Planning on keeping it for a long time.

Get it done yearly like you say then, worth the piece of mind tbh

If you are keeping the car, change the oil & filter every 9k, brake & clutch fluid every 2 yrs & do the rest as per service schedule.
