The problem with the 4x4 is the extra big jack which doesn't fit inside the spare. I've stuffed the jack inside its felt bag under the passenger seat (not ideal) and the rest of the tools inside a polystyrene insert I bought that fits inside the upturned space-saver spare.....

That's interesting - I'm going to have to empty Mum's boot (a major task! ) when I see her at the weekend, to see what's in the spare wheel well - I know there's a space saver (we checked as it was £50!) and I know there's nothing else floating around in the boot (apart from 2 tons of coats/brollys/gardening stuff/assorted "things" ), so I am now wondering exactly what it came with!

Does anyone else have a 4x4 with it all neatly stowed, and how do I tell if it's the right jack? See I'm wondering if it's right now.....

I seem to remember that they have different part numbers stamped into them - too late to go out to the garage just now - I'll have a look in the morning.

I think the thread I found said that the two different jacks have some sort of different marking on them. See the following post for the details:

Can't get at my jack to check at the moment, but yes it is probably worth checking that your Mum's jack is the correct one before you need to use it! I'm going to have a go at stowing the tool bag under the passenger seat, but there does not seem to be a lot of room!

This discussion about 4x4 jacks has sort of explained the reason why I posted on this thread, but not the answer to the question. Do I need to get hold of a Panda jack that should lift a 2012+ car, I guess, or a Punto jack and insert which should fit a Punto spacesaver. Any ideas, please?

The jack with my 2013 Panda 4x4 TA has two labels on the top of the two arms of the jack.

First label has three numbers in a column: 10125; 2011; 6116. And states that it's suitable for models: Doblo/Panda 4x4.

Other label has: Code: T233/C83 and what looks like a part number: 51905814.

I realise that doesn't specifically address your question but it does suggest - or even state - that the 4x4 shares its jack with the Doblo only. As this jack won't go into the Panda's spacesaver I'd be pretty sure it won't go into a Punto's either - you need to find a Punto in a scrappie - which shouldn't be too difficult - and try it.

Thanks to babbo umbro for the information and suggestion. Just to clarify, my car is a 2014 Twinair Lounge, not a 4x4. I think my best plan is to get a complete Mk2 Punto spacesaver and jack/tool set and try it out.

Maybe another non 4x4 owner could post the part number of the jack supplied with the standard Panda spare wheel? If that matches the one in the Punto kit then you are good to go! Things are never simple are they!

Thought I'd answer my own question for the benefit of others. Bought a Punto Mk2 spare and tool set. The Punto jack fits and lifts my Panda and the whole thing fits in the boot-well, with the carpet standing about 5mm proud - not noticeable with a boot protector in. Towing eyes are different, but the Panda one will go in and is a tight fit under the jack handle in the insert. Pleased at having spent less than £40 in total, when local Fiat dealer said spacesaver spare didn't exist for the new Panda!
