Bit south in Devon like
:D

Well, I've seen about four new Pandas in the past week in Devon which is quite impressive. One was the orangey red colour, another red, another white and a turquoise Easy model which is like mine.

The latter gave me a bit of a scare - as it was going through the village where I live I thought someone had pinched mine!:D

But anyway - hopefully sales are beginning to pick up a bit.

Parked next to a new orange/red Panda in Greenock last week - the first Panda (other than my own), which I have been up close to. Saw a white one back in May on the M6, and have not seen any others!

They are as rare as hens' teeth here too, but then I don't notice all that many new cars of any make these days, unless it is expensive ones.

The car market follows the money, and as the rich are increasing their wealth so are the less well off losing theirs. Not a complicated equation really.

Fiat is giving up on all cars above the 500L size and will not bother with any Bravo or Punto type models in future because BMW, Audi and even VW has got that market stitched up. Badges seem to matter. There is enormous overcapacity and Renault, Peugeot-Citroen, Opel and Ford are in the same boat. Saab and Rover have gone, Lancia is going and others will doubtless go too.

People want cheap sensible low cost cars and Fiat gave up on those a long time ago. I'd expect sub-brands made in low cost countries and using a limited component supply to take up the slack. And maybe the Indians and Chinese, who knows?

I mean, £14,000 for a little Panda 4x4 really is too much. It should be nearer £11,000, but other manufacturers will doubtless be quick on their feet to fill the holes left by traditional makers who are all trying all going upmarket to try and complete with the Germans - which they cannot do.

Seen a few recently 2 reds and another white in Carmarthen, must have been a Pop or easy with side stripe. Seems everyone else has a KIA.

And you can't really blame them as they probably cost quite a bit less and come with a full 7 year warranty against the Fiat 2 year good warranty and extra 1 year not so good warranty.

This is quite a fair point.

However...some unlucky chap in a 59 plate Ceed broke down in the middle of our village yesterday.

Swings and roundabouts eh!:D

Yes, but at least he'll get it fixed for free. :)

I would have a Kia rio eco version. 90mpg is awesome!
The new multijet 3 in the Punto is very similar too, but the model is getting on for 7 years old
despite fiat changing bumpers etc to try to fool us.

I still want a Panda though despite the minus points of warranty.

Don't blame them either, mates got a new Sportage very nice it is too. Shame the Fiat as a 2 year manufacturer warranty and third as a dealer warranty. Does it equate to other 3 year warranties? last few cars I've had are Honda and Toyota, (before Toyota went 5 year)

Correct.
Now, if Fiat was serious about selling cars they would reduce the prices and add a four year warranty, like Renault is doing. With the arrival of the very pretty new Clio in the new year Fiat will be under even more pressure.
