Does anyone know anything about the heated windscreen option available on the new Panda? Is it a proper heating element like the ones that have been available on Fords for a while? Looking on Fiat's website it's only a £50 option which seems like very good value.

Cheers

ive got a feeling it may be similar to fords quick clear given that they worked on the 500/KA :)

^ good point, I'd forgotten about the 500 / KA connection. Thanks for the reply.

Still seems suspiciously good value though, but maybe it's just me being cynical ;)

Planning a visit to a Fiat dealership soon for a closer look over the Panda anyway so I'll see what they say.

I had the option on a 2007 Fiesta. It's a pain if you wear vari focal spectacles. I did consider having it removed & a standard screen fitted.

Not 100% keen as on fords you can see the lines albeitfeint, I found last year ok with just tepid water on my civic.
I have this option on my new Panda TA and although the conducting threads are just barely visible if you focus on the screen, I don't notice them at all when driving. However with Polaroids it might be a different matter - not yet tested.
Mike.

Mine's got it also and I wear prescription polarising sunnies in the rare glimpses of sunshine. The heating element hasn't posed any problem at all.
