I'll get some pics of mine up asap. It will be arriving at the dealers, hopefully next tuesday night. So will have it on wednesday or thursday, fingers crossed.

Saw Top Gear where James May put 3 obese people in the Twin Air. Just shows what you can get in one. Have to say that I agree with him on the point that small cars such as the Panda are more fun than very large expensive cars. A friend of mine had a 635 BM which we took all over Germany. I was bored to tears with the thing. On the contrary used to drive Cinqs and had a Panda as a courtesy car for about a week. That was so much fun, especially on roundabouts. Now my daughter doesn't need a puschair anymore and Mrs Bean has a Doblo I will seriously consider a Panda when the MW finally gives up. That unfortunately will be another 10 years based on the previous 6 years of ownership.

Just taken delivery (two weeks overdue) of a white Easy twin-air, and its great. Nice firm ride. Nice gearbox. Good handling, love the throaty growly in mid-revs...taking it easy (as its name suggests) for 500 miles to get it run it a bit (on mineral oil having had it changed). The car is going to be driving to Cape Town at the end of the year...did start a thread on this but dont know where its gone.

Mellors of Wantage (south Oxfordshire) found the car and hustled it into being, and its delightful. Very, very different to drive compared with the "traditional" Panda (my sister has a four year old 1200). Its quite a lot heavier but goes well.

Good to see a new Panda arriving in Oxfordshire, i've not seen any round here yet & think yours is the first TwinAir on the forum (y)

Is Mellors still like a time-warp? I've not been there for a few years but it was like stepping into the 80's when i last went, with the old F I A T signage & hand-written invoices. Not everyone's cup of tea but i loved it. It made a nice change to find a manufacturer-backed garage that paid more attention to its customer service than it did to polishing the floor tiles. Far better than i'd imagine Oxfordshire's other Fiat Dealer offering will be - the name above the door (beginning with H) means i won't even risk letting my Fiat near enough to find out first-hand.

I wish Fiat had asked Mellors to take on another Fiat Franchise in Oxon instead of giving it to those in Abingdon - i recently went to Warwick with my Parents to buy a new 500 as i didn't wanna risk Abingdon & didn't think Mellors were able to sell new cars :(

Anyway, best of luck with the Panda - some cheeky snaps would be very welcome ;)

Mellors attention to detail beat the alternative you mention. Yes you still get your deposit acknowledged in a hand written scrap of paper - not a machine in sight, 1980s? More like 1960s, what with the vintage Fiat taking up a lot of space in the showroom.

The car is going great - very lively indeed, under-rated. Pity the hazard lights come on with the ABS and when bouncing down a very bumpy road, apart from that, nothing to fault. Its being run in carefully on MINERAL oil, so we might get to the quoted fuel-consumption figures a lot earlier than others have found.

To be fair to them my invoices were always on headed paper of some description, it just came as abit of a shock waiting almost as long for the bill to be written as it did to get the work done

1960s is not an era i'm familar with, so i'll trust your judgement on that one :p Im suprised it's still like it - i don't mind the time-warp look but clearly Fiat don't have anything in the way of set standards of appearance for their dealers - i thought they might have at least moved Mellors onto the round blue Fiat badge by now even if they couldn't stretch to the latest red one!

Glad Nuova Panda is happy. With our roads the hazard bulbs will probably need changing in about a fortnight ;)
