Hi folks - I'm starting to find my way around things.
Can you check I'm doing it right?:worship:
Today I got EPER working. The URL I found is very long:
http://www.spangerum.com:7080/navi?...ODE=0&EPER_CAT=SP&DV=0&WINDOW_ID=1&GUI_LANG=3
I couldn't get it to display properly in Firefox but it was OK in IE.
I want to find the right speedo cable for a 1989 900 Dance.
(I don't have a VIN number as I haven't picked up the car yet.)
First problem I faced is which model to chose:
LV 141 PANDA 4X2 RL/86(1986-1991)
LV 241 PANDA VAN 4X2 RL/86(1986-1991)
2R 153 PANDA 4X4 R/86 (1986-1991)
2R 253 PANDA VAN 4X4 R/86 (1986-1991)
2P 141 PANDA DS (1986-1993)
2P 241 PANDA VAN DS (1986-1993)
1S 141 PANDA 4X2 MAQ 91 (1991-2003)
1S 241 PANDA VAN 4X2 MAQ 91 (1991-2003)
1T 153 PANDA 4X4 MAQ 91 (1991-2003)
1T 253 PANDA VAN 4X4 MAQ 91 (1991-2003)
I have some questions:
Are the first five characters the model/version number?
I can see:
4x2, 4x4, Van & DS. (4cyl x N wheel drive, Van and what is DS?)
RL/86, R/86, MAQ 91. (What do these mean?)
Is LV 141 correct for an 1989 900 Dance?
It's straight forward to find the right section:
212 TRANSMISSION AND REDUCTION GEAR
21233/00 SPEEDOMETER AND DRIVE
The next variants are:
GS; GS+007; GD & GD+007
LHD; LHD+auto; RHD & RHD+auto (so far so good)
It looks as though #4 the sender unit is only used on an automatic.
So either I get a complete assembly and there are two version for RHD:
4410792 & 7635493 £57.02 + VAT (I can't see any difference. Is the just different manufacturers but the same part?)
or
Flex/Shaft: 4339664 £26.89 + VAT
So next question, is this a dealer only part can you get it elsewhere?
and
Will another cable work from another model e.g. Uno ?
I used the search option to look for the part number 4339664 and I found:
LV PANDA 4X2 RL/86(1985-1991)
2R PANDA 4X4 R/86 (1986-1991
1T PANDA 4X4 MAQ 91 (1991-2003)
So I think this confirms it's a Panda only part.
(Which is a shame as the Uno I looked at in my local breakers had a nice shiny new cable fitted. )
As for fitting it:
I've seen a thread from Chris Watson that describes the process but couldn't find any pictures.
However I noted that Rocketman suggests you don't need to take the dash apart and you can get access by removing a panel in the engine bay.
Is this correct? It should save some time.
Any advice greatfully received.
Thanks
C.T.
