Hi all! (especially all Panda 4x4 Sisley owners).
Just bought one 9standard, not Special Edition) off Ebay to add to the Tacchini that I bought some months back.
Luv it to bits and just need to find somewhere to drive it to get the best out of it. I note that there are 2 Sisleys doing the Plymouth-Dakar trek. I've joined the desertprats mailing list and will be interested to see if it holds out.
Just a few queries that other Sisley owners may be able to answer:-
I've got the double headlamps at the front but can't see any way to switch on or off the second set. Any pointers?
It doesn't have a radio or cigarette lighter. These are normally in one block Is it conceivable that a Sisley woudl have been supplied without them? There is an aerial.
The gearbox is a bit worn - third gear selection has to be done slowly. Is the gearbox standard and can it be replaced without any effect on the 4 wheel drive bits.
Any other websites I should know about as a Sisley owner?
Waiting for the response with great anticipation!

Hi Latman,
I have a sisley, does your sisley have a space for them or is the plastic thing missing? My panda had no radio when i bought it it had a dodgy plastic thing with a space for a knob control radio. (two circles and a small hole in the middle)
The plastic thing has the ciggy lighter next to it.
If the lot is missing are the wires there in the dash. (i cant remember the colours now!)
Speakers, power etc.
THE LIGHTS I HAD WHERE WIRED TO NOWHERE SO I ADDED THEM WITH A SWITCH TO THE BATTERY, PUSH THE WIRE ALONG WITH THE OTHERS BY THE BULKHEAD.
I am unsure about the gearbox. (RESEARCHING AT THE MOMENT)
i don't know of any sisley sites but if you find any i'd like to know

hope that's some help! sort of!

six of one!
and half a dozen of the beast!

Hi Sixwheeledbeast!
Thanks for your response!
I do not even have the plastic 'thingy' under the instrument panel (as I do in my other Panda). There are however several wires bound up with black tape, which I presume may be the wiring for the radio and cigar lighter. It does look as if there may have been speakers attached to the brackets at either end of the tray under the instrument panel, because there is evidence of holes having been drilled there and my otther Panda does have speakers in that position (although the Haynes manual or other manual that I have says they are supposed to be in the panels either side if the rear seat!). Most worrying is that there is a strange hole on the underside of the instrument panel, where the radio could have been in theory, which looks as if there might be cut off wires within it. There is a thread to the plastic grommet around it, which suggests something might have been screwed over it at some point.
I think I was wrong about the 'Standard' Sisley - I think they are all 'Special Edition'.
It looks, from what you say and from my evidence, that the owner has to make his own arrangements for the switching of the additional front lights!
Still not sure whether to run it on unleaded or lead replacement fuel. The manuals say that either is OK although ignition might have to be advanced for one variant, I presume. I seem to be getting pinking whichever I use.

I have found that the sisley and standard 4X4 box is the same.
there is a pinion behind the gearbox going to the 4wd stuff, selecta and the prop
So it's harder to change than a 2wd box!
My panda needs a box too! It makes a "WHIZZING" sound past 40 mph.
It's not the oils i have checked and change the engine, gearbox and rear diff oil and greased the prop and it still does it!

Kelvdon autos have a 4x4 panda box, they are in essex, phone number is 01376 583592, if they say they haven't remind them that they took one out of a car before they crushed it!
They are usaly well cheep for parts.
