100% of the Ramblers' Association will do, and probably around 50% of everyone else. But the fact of the matter is that we make very little physical footprint on the countryside in comparison with Landrovers and motorbikes.

Definitely not. I have been involved in bothy maintenance and hiking over a number of years, a vehicle is often a necessity and if a Road is not passed it becomes impassable. Kids have put stop to most of my former antics though.

In my opinion as walker and mountain biker . Many footpaths and bridleways are actually unused roads from the time of the salters ways but we're never registered as so due to a lack of horsey around people at the birth of the public rights of way not being registered as so the defaulted to foot paths.
