Hi everyone :)

Just curious in asking if anyone knows if the punto 1.1 55 5 speed gearbox is compatible with the panda 1000. Asking as i have the 3rd gear crunches to get in, dont know if its a common issue and might replace the box.

Thanks

85% of cars or should I say 85% of drivers get occasional 3rd gear crunch, subject well covered in the past.

Adjust clutch cable by one full nut turn.
P55 mk1 box bell housing will match with the block but that's it. Panda has wet inner CV's and gear change mechanics are unique.

:ROFLMAO:

I love this statement Jacob!

My Sisley crunches quite badly in 3rd and sometimes 4th if you rush it, but was doing it when I got it (it's at 135k though). Most of the time I can avoid crunching it, but 100% of everyone else who drives it crunches it 100% of the time! (y)

Fridays lesson in life is that the older you and your car get the more you need to take things slowly.

Change gear less hurriedly or learn to double de clutch and chill.

The rythm of life is a wonderful thing!

I drive like Hoke from Driving Miss Daisy most of the time

Bugs the life out of me when people say im like "Miss Daisy" watch the film, she is a very unsafe driver, thats why she needs Hoke. GOD

Anyways I havent had 3rd gear crunch in my 750, perhaps because its a 4 gear? Though I rarely got it in the Parade or Sisley

Well the Sisly crunches badly into 3rd and 4th unless you double de clutch. It seems to be idling quite high (revs wise) and suspect this is causing it. Currently at Freddies and this is on the list.

i wonder if im misremembering, going to find some old videos if i can

It may have been caused by me though, we did replace the clutch as soon as I got it back. On the drive back from yours when you went up hill the clutch slipped so bad it disengaged and just revved the engine :p

I wonder if when we replaced the clutch it caused the crunch issue, perhaps it needs some adjusting like Jacob has said above.

Edit: You can see the clutch swap here to see how bad it was - https://www.fiatforum.com/members-motors/427979-axel-sisley-4x4-2.html?p=4098350

I remember the clutch release bearing was very noisy

jesus christ there is next to nothing left!

Im sorry @Freebo I genuinely did not realise the state of the clutch or I would have told you on selling it. I remember writing down everything I could think of in the ad.

In all fairness I never drove the sisley very much as you know, here is a hillclimb video I did at the time, maybe I was just lucky? Im sorry mate on seeing this, genuine mistake :(

Nah dont worry fella, its fine! :)

Mine would crunch 3rd if you rushed it but just learnt to take it a bit slower and it stopped being an issue.
Don't mention clutch release bearings mine was probably the noisiest in all land!

Not done that many miles in mine yet but seems to slip into third no problem, slightly noisy clutch release bearing though and sometimes finding 5th can take a minute!
