Technical Panda not starting

Hi guys i just bought a 1992 panda that needs a head gasket. The car started up to yesterday but today it started and switched off and now wont start as if the battery is dead. It only clicks and sometimes cranks twice slowly and stops again. We tried pushing it downhill but nothing. What could it be? Thanks

P.S. we also tried jump starting it and put a good battery but still nothing

Check earth wire.

Check all connections on earth wire , may be one at each end and one in middle. Make sure they are clean and tight and that crimped crimps are tight.
Do the same for the battery positive.

Is one or more of cylinders full of coolant due to head gasket leak , that would stop it turning over.
Pull out plugs to check.

Could it be hydrolock? Please dont tell me the engine seized it only started for 3 seconds and then gone

Take all plugs out
Jack up one front wheel 2
gear rotate wheel should turnover
If good try with starter
If starter doesn't run
Short out with jump leads
Could also be ceased starter
Check no fluid in pots
Once turning over
Squirt petrol direct in carb with an old kitchen spray.
If fails no spark

would strongly advise changing the headgasket, oil and filter and coolant before trying to start it?

I would make sure head gasket failed myself before taking any ones word for it , unless it was someone I know

I'm confident it won't be hydrolock damaged , but even small about fluid in cylinder could cause slow crank or no rotation of crank shaft.

You could take spark plugs out and see if starter turns over quicker.

Check negative wire from battery to body and gearbox clean connections.
Check positive wire to starter motor , clean connections.

can you take a picture of the engine please, being a 1992 it could be a hybrid injection panda.

try to get the picture of the carb. just from the side will do where the throttle cable is.

I tried this. I jacked the car and moved the wheel in 4th gear. Could get it moving only for a small turn and then nothing. I pulled the car in 4th and it moved, everything turned properly so i think that excludes seizing. Now i took the head off and found loads of water in piston 1. Im going to change the head gasket and see how it goes. If problem persists im going to have to take the starter out.
