General Meet my Panda "Chappie" my plan: Road trip around Europe!

Long time since last update sorry!!

I'm currently taking my last exams at school so limited time is available for PandaLife, unfortunately.:(

But I have managed to make some progress like sanding down many of the interior parts and painting them black!

I've also found a radio holder from a scrapped Panda and have had a metal plate cut to the right shape to take the space of the radio and installed two 12V sockets that will (along with a 12v plug-in mini inverter) come in handy! I often go out and just park in the middle a local vineyard and lay in the back using my laptop plugged into the car to study, very relaxing!

There are also two switches that will turn on some glow LEDs (bare with me here, I'm not trying to make a stupidly modified panda) but a few years ago I owned an old "APE 50" that I had modified (Dukes's of Hazzard air horns and all!), a bit like a Tuk-Tuk and it was my only means of transport and I used to have LED's under it too, and used them to create a red glow under the back and it helped immensely to make me more visible to other road users. So the idea is I am going to put some red LED strips under the back of the panda to increase how visible I am and some white LED strips under the front bumper (all be it the white ones will be more just for looks :slayer:) the switches are all wired up but have to be connected to the LEDs soon.

I haven't abandoned the project and I am still going on my epic European road trip at the end of this summer! I will try and keep you all up to date regularly!

If any of you are interested I have an Instagram profile " MaxThePixels" where I post my adventures (often with Chappie), Please do follow if it interests you!

Glowing/ underside illumination led strips are illegal for street use.
I have driven around for 4 years with them on the Ape (often I even had them turned on blue) here in Italy and never had a problem, I'm not saying that they aren't illegal, just that it depends where you use them Haha, I know that they aren't legal everywhere, but when I'm driving in the middle of nowhere through, say, Macedonia I doubt it will be a problem, but good point, I will definitely remember that when driving though big citys, London, Paris, etc.. or anywhere the law might be strictly enforced! By the way the strips are very small and the red ones will only be on the back (I'm not for example fitting them to the sides) they will be under the bumper so only creating a small glow so I doubt I'll ever get in trouble... Or at least I hope!! [emoji28] the white ones, as stated, are going to be more for looks probably when still for example for pics, or maybe even to create a nice atmosphere for a barbecue on the ground in font of the car.
Again thanks for the comment, I have got very used to my local cops and how you can do anything here and be fine.. I see some diabolical things happening right in front of the police's eyes that they are fine with, from kids in cars riding on parcelshelvs [emoji35] to mopeds going around using the old style of number plate that became illegal many years ago here and I'm sure I've gotten used to this kind of lenience so I will have to be careful!

Thanks for posting an update. Very interesting. If I had the money I'd love to convo around on the trip and make it a multi car adventure with Fiat only fans!
Shame, but I'll be travelling through all of Europe so maybe I could meet up with some of you guys from the forum when I'm close !
