Hello all,
I've been in contact with the family that run the Farm with regards to us visiting and spending a few nights in order to experience some off-roading in Wales.
I'd seen an advert in last months GLASS magazine and thought it would be worth getting in touch and testing the water before we commit to any dates.
The site offers a large amount of accommodation over three buildings; a guest house (set up like a hotel which sleeps 17), a cottage (sleeps 6) and a farm house (sleeps 10).
The massive benefits that this place has to offer are a vast local knowledge of the local green lanes (upto 4 days worth I'm told) and an on-site off-road course (only for the use of people that are staying on site). There is a large map room and the family members are all 4x4 enthusiasts which are available to offer direction, assistance, recovery and even mechanical help if required. There is also a pressure washer and drying room available for use.
Prices are pretty reasonable at £45pp/per night for the guest house, the whole cottage (which includes breakfast) is £185pp/per night (these are weekend prices and it would be less for a mid-week stay).
As the guest house sleeps 17, I would suggest a limit on numbers to something around this, but also bearing in mind if families are coming then the cottage or farm house is available and a better option for them (David, Andy, Jason etc.)
As we were talking on Freddy's thread briefly about this, I was suggesting a visit around April time - due to their current bookings this is not available neither mid-week or on a weekend. The place is booked up weekend-wise pretty much until early 2018, but mid week it's fairly readily available from May onwards apart from the summer holiday period.
The earliest dates available at present are:
May 1st - 4th
May 8th - 12th
May 23rd - 25th
Now I'll be needing feedback from everyone regarding the dates, but if we are wanting to do this meet in may we need to be fairly sharpish as she said that they will go fairly quickly.
In view of families and pre-planned individual commitments:
Are we available and happy with doing a mid-week stay over?
I know some of you guys are planning Italy again - is it too close to this?
Should we leave it until the back-end of the year instead?
This thread is here to test the water and nothing is set as yet, but I do need feedback from everyone please!
I will tag everyone that was at Freddy's in a reply, with associated families and kids a proposed total would be 26 adults + 4 children (If I've done the correct maths). As Jacob stated in the other thread, there are a couple of camp sites available close by aswell.
Please let me know what you think, cheers!
