Hi,
I have a 1992 CLX.
I noticed it has been dripping coolant on the drive. On closer inspection I noticed it was coming from the red "plug" at the bottom of the coolant reservoir. It seemed loose so I gave it a gentle (honest!) turn thinking I was tightenng it and it came off in my hand. I can now see that there is no thread or lugs to secure it back in ( and can also see coolant all over the driveway)
Do I need to replace the whole radiator or is there a way of re-seating this plug?
Many thanks

Ok - correction, in the daylight, I can see that the red plug (which is also the "min" marker in the radiator bottle) used to have lugs on it, but these are now missing, hence the looseness and leak in the first place
So I either need to buy a new red "min" plug or try to re-seat the broken one.
Please can I have your advice on if and where I could find a replacement, and on whether re-seating the broken one using something like the heatproof gasket stuff I used when replacing the water pump might work.
Any views and advice appreciated.
Many thanks

thanks - I have dropped them a line.
I will post a picture or two later this evening - it will beat my attempt at describing the issue with words

Thanks for the recommended suppliers of radiators so far.
Should I assume that new radiator is the only workable option? It does seem a shame to replace a whole radiator for the sake of a broken plug (picture attached - note, snapped surfaces)
I have scoured the web for this plug as a seperate part and failed.
Should I attempt to stick the plug back in? I am thinking, if I do and it works, great, and if it doesn't, I need to get a new radiator anyway.
As always grateful for guidance
Thanks

OE rads did not had the drain plug, so your must be aftermarket one.
Look for some number or labels along the side vertical part - there might be some reference which potentialy can lead you to replacement plug.

I've just received a new radiator from dominoricambio on ebay. RADIATORE MOTORE FIAT PANDA 750-900 1000 FIRE- Y 1.0-1.1 86> 5998952=01043018

Only cost 19 Euro for a new radiator but I also ordered something else to make it worth while with the postage which wasn't bad considering it came from Italy.

Should have bought from Ricambio International even though they're more expensive; my radiator from dominoricambio wasn't well packaged and the box was torn and the aluminium fins squashed in various places so another lesson in 'you get what you pay for'.

Thanks everyone for the help and input.
I followed the link to Amazon, and bought one for £40. It was badly damaged when it eventually arrived and was sent back. I bought another from parts-direct-uk-ltd on ebay for £30 and have just fitted it
