Hi. Just recently joined and already asking technical questions about my recently acquired '90 Panda 1000CL.

I bought a replacement steel coolant tube (Fiat part no.7545122 as pictured) that connects the water pump to the radiator's bottom house from a well known Italian car parts specialist in Surrey, only to be told by my mechanic that it doesn't fit and is the wrong type! I was getting a timing belt change carried out and naturally got the water pump done as well and thought it a good idea to replace the steel coolant pipe at the same time.

The tube I received is made by a company called Vema and is labelled with the number 13332 which would appear to be a list number of some sort.

Has anyone else experienced any issues on trying to get one that fits? If so, how do you know which one to order when Fiat only list one part number for it? I came across another coolant tube on ebay but it was very different from the one I received.

I'd be keen to hear of anyone else's issues with this steel tube and how it was resolved.

Pipe for older fire engines 0.75 1.0 and oldest 1.1 has the same shape , but there is difference in location of the fastener to the engine block comparing with the same element but for newer fire engines{ from about 1995} like 1.1 and 1.2 plus some last editions of 1.0 probably not avialable in UK though.

old one you need:

newer one:

Cheers Bartpanda.(y) The image of the one you identified as the one I need is identical to the one I've got, just the photo's taken at a different angle.

Asked my mechanic today for a better explanation of how it was the wrong pipe I'd ordered. He explained that the bracket to bolt to the engine block was in the wrong place but that it wasn't a problem as the pipe bracket could be repositioned to the correct position by himself. The major problem was that it was too big in diameter to fit into the water pump housing. I've measured the internal diameter of the new pipe at the end that fits to the water pump and it's 28mm; outside pipe diameter is 30mm along the straight part of the pipe NOT the ridged areas where the rubber seal is fitted.

There's a clear difference between the two photos in Bartpanda's response and my pipe is without doubt identical to the one he says I need.

Is the pipe easily removed without taking off the exhaust manifold? I might give it a go myself if it's easy done; I'll tackle electrics and alot of things but if a ramp's required or I'm likely to balls something up I'm best leaving well alone.

Old pipe is not easy to remove because of the rust, dust and deposits, new one is hard to push in because of the the new oring ;) I always did this without ex. manifold.

Looks like mine's a bit different than the new one I've received. The existing one has a flared end that's unlike the new one I got which has only two ridges for the O ring and no flared end. I'm not going to risk removing the existing just yet till I've a replacement that fits.:confused::confused::confused::confused:
