Hi, has anyone fitted H&R springs to a classic panda? i have just noticed them for sale on eBay - for £177.85

H&R are one of the best in the business, but would be nice to know if someone has fitted these, and if they lower all round, or just the front like all the others i seem to be able to find!? they say the lower 30mm, but looking on the proper H&R website, they have no classic panda springs listed

i have fitted new bushes, top mounts and dampers, but i want less roll, hoping going a touch lower would help!

cheers

Don't know about H&R springs I think panda1408 fitted spax all round to mine along with new suspension and anything with rubber bushes too.
At first I ran it with 15" wheels but they rubbed on the rear arches so swapped them for 14".
I'm not sure lowering it was really necessary, it tends to be a little hard, bouncy and jittery compared to a standard car, yes the body roll is less but it has lost the comfort of the standard car ride.

For comparison on my next project I'll keep everything standard, I'm sure there are companies out there that will make springs for older cars to order I've seen them at shows. Also try a wanted add on here, it's amazing what members have stashed away!
Widening a search on ebay to include europe can pay dividends while searching too, not forgetting FIAT themselves, they still can provide brand new front and rear bumpers!

The springs that specify a drop at the front only would be 4x4 or mk1 models due to the leaf springs at the rear;)
As above really though, default option seems to have been Spax which work well for most, I've fitted Pi which were cheap but work pretty well too. You sacrifice ride comfort (which of course isn't fantastic to start with) for looks and a reduction in body roll with those. I'm sure the H&R kit would be great - most kits do a 40mm drop so the 30 might be a better compromise. H&R just seem a bit .... expensive.. for a Panda really. Sort of not in the spirit of things.

Yes, i had them on my 1100 Young, and the car drove great. ;)

cheers for the info everyone - i never thought about the leaf spring situation, makes sense now! i should have, i have a lowered mk1 caddy with leaf springs on the rear!

I was looking into springs recently... was tempted but will likely need to re-new shock absorbers all around and it all comes at a cost.

Insurance probably won't like me either, so something for the future I suppose ;)

Hi,
If you ever need any help with insurance at all then please feel free to drop me a line.
Regards,
Dan.

Got me thinking...:D
I'll let you know. Just, don't hold your breath - I'm far far better at buying stuff than I am at getting round to fitting it:eek:

nice!

i am tempted to just say "funk it" and buy them, but i do have a few problems with my daily drive subaru, and nothing is ever cheap with that! :yuck:

My other issue is I bought them for Rofus but they have turned up in a lovely Tacchini green rather than the blue on the pictures which would look great on Grumbleweed but which will totally clash with a turquoise Colour. (Yup, really that sad)
