Hi all, I took the family out for the day today and noticed that every time we were in traffic the car quite quickly filled with fumes. I had checked the exhaust before but found no leaks. Is the boot seal a possible culprit or could it be something else?

I suspect it might be the rubber breather pipe which runs from the rocker cover to the air filter housing. This failing (with age) can cause the smell of fumes within the car.

Ah I did see this as a problem on the later Fiats. I know our breather is just a piece of plastic tube that doesn't even fit snugly! I'll get that sorted straight away. Many Thanks.

theres also a little pipe that connect to the same cam breather from behind the carb. i forgot to plug this in once.. man.. i was high all the way home i think! :/

Cheers Chaps. I had a look after work (yes it's now light when I get home) anyway I replaced the rocker to airfilter plastic pipe with nice snug rubber hose, I did check the smaller hose and all looks well. I just need to test it tomorrow see if it's worked.
